"oh wow," quinn mumbles as piper carefully gets herself down the stairs.

the girl looks up a shy look on her face,

"is that a good oh wow?" she asks softly looking about one word away from running back upstairs,

"of course," quinn breaths out, "you look- wow,"

"come on you two picture time!" ellen calls interrupting the moment, "i don't know how long i can keep jack and luke looking like they haven't rolled in the grass," quinn rolls his eyes as piper continues the rest of the way down the stairs,

"be there in a moment!" he calls back before reaching a hand out towards his girlfriend, "i apologize right now for any of my family members behavior," piper giggles grabbing quinns hand,

"i can't promise my dad wont be any worse. he's always egging your brothers on,"

Ethan: You were flirting with Addison-

Piper: So? She’s my girlfriend.

Ethan: You asked her if she was single.

Ethan: And cried when she said she wasn’t.

last night @toasttt11 and i did some brainstorming for a new Quinn AU

heres what we/i have so far:

Piper Olsen

Born in New York, New York on April 15th, 1999; when her dad, ryan, is playing for the New York Rangers

Her mother died when she was 4 of cancer

After her dad retires he begins coaching. Starting at the University of Michigan as an assistant coach in 2010, under the iconic red berenson, then is announced as the NTDP U18 head coach in 2015 for the 2015-2016 season. At the end of the 2018-2019, season he was asked to be the head coach of the Detroit Red Wings, which is where he currently stays.

She was 11 when they moved to Canton, Michigan

She is a dual athlete doing both Field Hockey and Lacrosse

She is committed to play both at OSU much to her dad, quinn and the hughes' families chagrin but that's where her mom went so she's going there too

Piper x Quinn

piper meets quinn at the USA NTDP tryout camp in the summer of 2014, which she traveled to with her dad

they don't see each other again until they end up in many classes together their junior year of high school

then quinn begins to see her everywhere at the rink at team events everywhere

so a friendship blossoms

its not until the summer when quinn travels back to toronto that they both realize that they miss each other

so after a few awkward months there senior year quinn works up the courage to ask her out

there relationship there freshman year of college is a hard adjustment, but quinn makes it to many of her games and she does the same for him

they last SO LONG because of the rough first year of long distance

Ryan is why jack and luke are so insistent on also playing in the NTDP.

Jim has worked with Ryan in the past as a coach and always admired his work when he was at umich in development (zach hyman comes to mind) and Quinn never shuts up about him

When Ellen meets Piper for the first time, she immediately understands why her son didn't shut up about her the summer before

Jim loves piper because she works so hard. he admires the kind of athlete she is

and jack and luke are obsessed with her always going to her games especially luke who is always a short drive away during her time at college

Piper when Quinn gets hit or hurt during a game

piper bites her lip as quinn doesnt put weight on his ankle. she looks at brock's girlfriend,

"do you think..." she trails off,

"it looked bad," bella whispers.

piper opens her purse and grabs her phone nodding,

"ok," she says beginning to type away, "im- my dad has an ankle guy I'm going-" bella nods,

"go find your boy. he's gonna need you,"

"so uh i was wondering," quinn stutters out as piper buckles her seatbelt,

"whats up q?" she asks, "where are we going?"

"i uh was wondering if we could tonight- uh-" quinn groans, "sorry," he says, "can we make this a date?" he asks.

piper smiles,

"about time you asked!" she exclaims. quinns head whips around towards his best friend,

"what?" he cries. pipper giggles,

"i've been waiting for weeks for you to ask me out, its about time," quinn lets out a sigh of relief,

"really?" he asks. piper nods a reassuring smile on her face,

"yah q really,"

"uh do you have a pen or pencil?" the defender asks turning toward the girl sitting next to him.

the girl turns towards her seat mate eyebrows furrowed,

"its the third day of school and you already don't have a writing utensil?" she asks as she digs through her bag for her pencil case,

"i left my pencil case on the kitchen table this morning," the girl hums holding out a pen,

"well you owe me," the boy smiles,

"thank you,"

what were piper and quinn’s first thoughts of eachother when they met at the ntdp tryout camp summer of 2014?

quinn is confused why this girl is around every corner he turns

she sits on the bench during practice reading a book, while her dad runs drills. she stands in the corner of the gym with a field hockey stick working on some sort of stick handling thing

meanwhile piper is like why does this curly haired boy keep staring at me???

she, ever clueless, even asks her dad who just laughs and shakes his head,

"perhaps he thinks you're cute,"

Everyone at pipers games vs mich

"i cannot believe you put that on your head," luke says glaring at his oldest brothers hat.

quinn shrugs,

"its for pipes i think i can deal for one field hockey game," luke raises an eyebrow as ellen throws her arm around her eldest son,

"luke stop being mean. we all know were all here cheering for her so get over it,"

but ryan leans over jim and holds his fist out whispering a familiar,

"go blue!"
