hey so i've heard a lot about igab but im rlly apprehensive towards reading it bc its the whole "cis girl pretends to be cis boy" plot so im just wondering if there is any sort of trans inclusion
Okay, I've been sitting on this ask all night because I want to handle it with care.
I never intended for Annabeth dressing like a boy to come off as disrespectful to trans issues. She is purely manipulating the system for her own gain (as selfish as that may sound). But unfortunately, I don't have any other trans character at this time, nor do I have anything in mind for the plot in the future.
I do have characters bring up the very real dangers people face in the transgender community and I want to treat it with as much respect as I possibly can.
Mostly the themes that I use throughout the story is self-identity (mirror symbolism!) and sexual identity. I don't want it to just be about the girl getting the guy and hilarity ensues (okay, maybe a little bit) because I do feel like this is an interesting topic to investigate, so I hope it at least piques your interests slightly.
