What are your favorite sitcoms?
Hmm... can’t really say I have a favorite just yet.
I’m only recently trying to get back to watching TV stuff, so on my list of shows to watch I have Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, and Friends.

11. Worst 5 Characters: Not in any particular order, but I would bitchslap these people if ever given the chance (& this is spoilers for several anime so warning you now)
First is Kai Chisaki A.K.A. Overhaul from My Hero Academia because he abused his niece, is casually transphobic, & does not care about the lives of his own gang members;
Inca Kasugatani from Fire Force because she extorts the relatively poor while being a massive hypocrite & is willing to murder the closest person she has to a friend purely for the adrenaline;
Azami Nakamura (I refuse to address him with the Nakiri name, he does not deserve that level of respect) from Food Wars because he abused his daughter for years until he was banned from the Nakiri estate, comes back to turn the school into a pseudo-facist police state so he can continue to try abusing his daughter, all in an effort to build a monopoly in Japan’s food industry... because an upperclassman he looked up to in high school decided to leave early to go on a soulsearching quest. I want to break a chair over this man’s head so badly I will pay you for the chance;
Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen, he’s a fun and enjoyable villain, but at the end of the day I can’t wait to see someone bash his face in because he deserves it;
Finally Tsukasa Yugi from Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, because he treats people like used tissue paper (plus there’s a semi-popular(?) fan theory that he sexually abused his twin brother Amane (the main character) while they were alive that I can def see the evidence for, but I’m not gonna go with it unless it’s explicitly confirmed; either way, he treats Amane in a manner that is. Very uncomfortable, to say the least).
31. Anime to Stay Away From: My viewing pool is limited, as I mostly stick to slice-of-life & horror stories, & if something else catches my eye I’ll give it a chance.
However, I can definitely say STAY AWAY FROM HETALIA, even if it is getting a new season & manga chapters. It has a reputation for being tone-deaf at best & outright racist at worst (as it’s a “satirical” look at world history focusing primarily on the Axis Powers during WWII), & a fanbase that is absolutely horrendous as members are known for dressing in Nazi uniform & giving salutes to “stay in character”.
Also, Attack on Titan. The creator has shown disregard for his criticisms of basing characters on known Japanese imperialists & Nazi officers, coming from American & Korean people, as well as being pro-imperialist & pro-government.
34. Anime I’m Looking Forward to: The 2 that come to mind are
‘So I’m a Spider, So What?’, about a young woman who finds herself reborn as a spider in a fantasy world & focuses on her trying to survive day-to-day as she tries to figure out how to return to normal
& ‘Yakunara Mug Cup Mo’ (English translations say “Let’s Make a Mug Too”), about a high school girl moving to Tajimi in the Gifu Prefecture (a city famous for its production & common use of Mino earthenware) & decides to join her school’s pottery club as a way to connect with her deceased mother. The creators release the manga for free in the surrounding area & you can dowload the English translations from their website for free!
35. Favorite Animation Style: I really like Studio MAPPA, as the majority of their work is extremely fluid, with a few sports & action anime under their belt. However, this year they’ve released a total of 9 series so far & have a staff of 200 people, so I’m really hoping at least several of them have been worked on for multiple years, but realistically they were probably time-crunched over the last 2-3 years
Are there any Scooby Doo series/movies that you think are genuinely good? To me, Scooby Doo was always something I enjoyed in the same way that I enjoyed watching the Adam West Batman series. Hilarious camp and the hammiest of acting, to a fucking T!
That's the thing! Scooby Doo is inherently campy, because the base premise is "Talking dog & teen friends expose capitalists in cheap Halloween costumes". I like 'What's New Scooby Doo?' as much as I do because it knows it's silly & tries to balance that silliness with the mystery aspect, even if it misses the mark sometimes. However, I like 'Be Cool Scooby Doo!' because it took the campyness & decided to do a triathalon with it, managing to become one of the most fun versions of Scoob I've seen

What the fuck is that anon going on about? It ‘would do you well’ to read what you actually WANT to read. Fucking hell, I HATE this shitty gatekeeping when it comes to books and reading. There are SO many great things out there to read besides the books on the high school reading list, and I’ve personally found some of the best ones I’ve ever read just searching through the genre listings on bookstore or fanfiction websites!
They’re mad that I’m not validating their stupid position. They took one look at the fact that I’ve found my interests and how it doesn’t confirm their beliefs about writing, and took issue. It’s tribalism plain and simple. Also you’re valid.
