New (and Not so New) Kuroshitsuji / Black Butler Fanfics
Not too long ago, there was a contest held on AO3: Remix Redux 12: The Dirty Dozen, for which I wrote this sebaciel fic: Indefinite (not to be confused with the talented Clicio’s dark and wonderful sebaciel fic Indefinite, which, if you haven’t read, go read it right NOW and, if you have read it, go read it AGAIN). My Indefinite is a remix of Piscaria’s fantastic sebaciel flash fic/character study The Thing With Feathers (which, again, if you haven’t read, go read it right NOW, and then go grab yourself a snack and settle in, because you’re going to want to read all the other Kuroshitsuji stories Piscaria has published--she’s a phenomenal writer).
Another wonderfully written Kuroshitsuji story born from the Remix Redux contest: Last Dance Before Supper written by Phoebe Zeitgeist, who also penned a phenomenal sebaciel fic that you might have read: The Second of Our Reign (and if you haven’t--GO! GO read it NOW!!).
Sadly, I think Pisca, Phoebe and I were the only writers requesting to remix Kuroshitsuji for the Remix Redux. Admittedly, I was leery about the idea of rewriting another writer’s work at first (what if I make a horrid mess out of a perfectly wonderful story? What if I insult or offend a writer I greatly admire? What if . . . GAH!!), but not only was it a great writing exercise, it was also a lot of fun. Hopefully the next contest will see more Kuroshitsuji writers in the mix. I’m looking at you Eglentyne, Silverwing26 (and your ridiculously talented Bocchan, of course), and aroturier!
