On the right, Deinotherium, Mastodon; in background, Helladotherium, ancient giraffes; on the left, Hippopotamus, Tapir, Rhinoceros, Hyena; in the tree, Pithecus pentelicus. All these animals, except the giraffe, were living in England in the late Tertiary Period."
