We just received a call from HOPE about Bryan and he has gotten worse over the course of the last 8 hours. The front part of his tongue is now cold and changing colors. The two surgeons on today and the vet who called feel that he does need to have surgery as soon as possible, which will be tomorrow morning. They do not want to wait too long and have a systemic infection start. He will need a feeding tube for a while in order to make sure he gets the medication he needs and food into his system. The surgery estimate is $2800, which does not include the approximate $3000 needed for his supportive care and hospitalization. If all goes well, he may be able to be released (with the feeding tube) in a couple days. Despite this traumatic ordeal and the pain he had endured, Bryan is super sweet and the doctors tell us everyone at the hospital is quickly falling in love with him. ❤️ Please keep Bryan in your thoughts and send positive vibes for a successful surgery tomorrow.
