"See that's where you're wrong. I was not glaring at you." Her face still holding onto that bitchy glare from earlier as she looks over the case she's supposed to consult on. She was professional enough to work with him but that didn't mean she had to like the guy right? She could glare every now and then and avoid him when she could.

"He was supposed to be done.." She checks her watch, "Three hours ago, Yet here he is on my shift."

"Hey, uh, Jack," as ever, Robby is one of the first members of dayshift to arrive. He'd been turning his conversation with Samira over in his head. Grateful to see the other man when he arrives, eyes turning to scan the space, making sure the younger woman isn't there yet. As such, he hasn't really taken Jack or his appearance in, just yet. "Can I have a quick word, brother?" he wanted to address it the same as he had with her, but he also knew it'd be different. Jack was older, more lived experience, and regardless of how much Robby knew he was a hypocrite, well, shit. He just wanted to make sure he was careful. The last thing he wanted was him getting his heart broken.

"Good evening, Doctor Abbott."

Yelena is already sitting at the kitchen table when the lights come up in the apartment. Borrowed towels are wrapped around her thigh, red with blood, and her foot is propped on the chair next to hers, but she seems otherwise unperturbed as she pushes a pot across the table toward him.

"I made you dinner, as thanks for helping me out."

Sure, he hasn't agreed to help her yet, but don't doctors have an oath to help people? Really, it would be more rude of her to assume he might refuse.

"Nothing fancy. I couldn't get around too well." And still there's evidence of her movements through the kitchen, in the form of bloody bootprints criss-crossing and overlapping one another. "It's macaroni, though, so you know it's good."

She's pressed into the corner, between the cart and the curtain, Kate slowly lets herself slide down the wall so she dips entirely behind it and then listens. Okay, so maybe she shouldn't be hiding here of all places, and maybe Jack shouldn’t be lying about her not being here, but good god Kate needs a break. 

Okay, she did have a legit reason to be here.

Kate had managed to get herself messed up in the fight, it wasn’t like she was hiding here for no reason but still, if there was anyone right now she didn’t want to talk to it was SHIELD. 

Had she done the one thing they told her not to do? Yes. Yes she had. Had she done it because it was the right thing to do? Also yes. While Kate had always been a bit of a rebel, it had never been without a cause. 

When she’s sure the agent was gone, she peers her head around the side of the curtain, “they gone?” A small blink, “you didn’t have to lie for me…” and she never would have asked him to either. “You probably shouldn’t.”

Ally is right where she wants to be. She's settled in Jack's lap on her couch in the living room of her penthouse apartment off Midtown, knees pressed against the back cushion, squeezing his hips, arms resting on his shoulders, hands curled into his hair, lips on his.

Shivers run up the curve of her spine as she feels his tongue swipe along her lower lip, and her hips roll, pressing down on his lap. She can feel him underneath her, that bulge between his legs growing, and she smiles against his lips before she kisses him again, one hand moving to take hold of the back of his neck.

She hears him grunt softly and feels his legs move underneath her. At first, she figures he's readjusting, but then his lips pull away from hers, and his hands are pressing back against her hips. "Mm?" She shakes her head to bring some use back to her brain, eyes immediately trying to find his as she catches her breath. "What's wrong? What's the matter?"

It's her day off, and she's been looking forward to this for weeks. Ever since her friend Claire from college said she'd be taking a few days off from her job to come down for Pittfest, Allison has had today marked in her calendar with a goofy little happy face sticker. It's been such a long time since she's gone to see some actual live music, and even longer since she's seen Claire in person instead of FaceTime.

And then it all goes to hell.

Bullets flying, people screaming and running, people falling and failing to get up again. She does her best to help, getting the injured into cars and trying to help keep people stable enough with limited and makeshift resources. And then Claire gets hit. And it's like Allison's brain just shuts down any extra functions. All that matters is getting them both into her car without any extra injuries and getting them to PTMC. Back to the Pitt, on her day off.

She doesn't remember the drive, which will worry her later, but they get to the hospital in one piece. Claire is put on a gurney and pulled away, and Allison doesn't waste a second, just heads towards the nurses station to grab a gown and gloves and--

And then she sees Jack. Her brain turns back on and her heart squeezes painfully in her chest, a lump in her throat as she calls out to him from across the ER.

"Jack!"

"Oh, uh, Dr Abbot." he comes to a cautious standstill, brows furrowing as he considers the older man. A quick glance back, over his shoulder, as if... expecting someone else. "You are here... early? I think? Or very late." he offered something like a smile, even if it was cautious. "Everything okay? Anything I can ... help with?"
