So, a long time ago I was an active user in deviantart, and I needed an online visual Identity that matched my nickname. At that time I was still pretty hooked on manga and anime and all that stuff so I remembered akira toriyama's self portraits of him as a robot in all his mangas and I thought, well, my nick already has the word "bot" in it, let's just make a monkey and that would be it!
And so, the first image ws born out of my nostalgia for toriyama and dragon ball. Then came the pixel art deviant ID meme that was going around, and then came a change of style later on. I should give the MonkeyBot another pass, see how he looks like today :)
