Wow I actually have stuff to talk about today! Wow!
First of all, been playing WEBFISHING a lot, especially today since I made a friend directly through it and half an hour later it had a major update. What.
Adding onto that, I'm making my avatar in that game an actual character, so far they talk so fast you need a translator, they can summon a pocket dimension with a flag and use it to break reality, they're VERY much an alcoholic (unlike Puralin they ARE affected by alcohol), they are ABSOLUTELY autistic and certainly have ADHD too (no this isn't sarcasm it's me saying it's canon /gen), and one of their stims is repeating phrases they've just said, and especially individual words (which came from Rot For Clout by Jamie-P yes I can fit Teto everywhere), I even got a name but that'll have to wait
2st, played Outcore for the first time, pretty fun I got to fight bootleg Flowey and call a stereotypical dating sim girl ugly (there is obviously more but nuh uh)
That's it I mostly wanted to talk about the character tbh
I'm a bit late to this character but lore has been slow recently so cut me some slack, anyways:
Say hello to Leimatojatau Beliomand, or Leimato for short, my only other Paradox character!
Leimato is a very close friend of Puralin's from centuries ago, and was recently saved from the rubble of their home by Cadaver (and with the help of someone else's OC, as Cadaver can't teleport people), we'll get back to that. She was born entirely without eyes, but has acute hearing so they can tell if someone's nearby, although she still trips often and runs into walls a lot (they'll get a cane soon). However, as a parallel to Puralin's antlers, she has ram horns that allow headbutts of immense power, as well as protecting them from any impacts as they'll also unbreakable, even from Puralin's knife! They also change color based on mood, just like Puralin's antlers. (take a drink of water for every time I say Puralin during this...)
Now as for backstory stuff, it's going to be linked to Puralin directly, so I'll put it under a read more for religious themes, putting Christianity in a bad light, and talks of a fictional massacre/genocide (i made this plot before learning about whats happening in palestine so keep that in mind)
..also i am just now realizing that I never actually revealed Puralin's backstory either so consider this his as well, eventually I'll redo everyone's character posts anyways
Alright, if you're here I assume you can handle this stuff, so:
Leimato grew up in the same city Puralin did, which was one made up entirely of Paradoxes. It was pretty much what you'd expect, just think of your average human city but the residents are WILDLY different. However, Yahweh (the Christian god, aka God) grew to hate these people, as they didn't worship him despite being the closest sentient beings to heaven. So, with divine wrath, he sent his angels to kill almost all of the Paradoxes, leaving only the children, which included Puralin and Leimato. This was named the Rapture by the survivors, and made all of them either fear or despise Yahweh.
The children were instructed to change their beliefs and worship Yahweh as their one and only god, but the children refused. In response, Yahweh had his angels patrol the rubble that was their city, commanding them to finish off everyone that was left. The children either went in hiding or gave into Yahweh's demands, and ended up getting eradicated on the spot. This drove most of them to insanity.
Puralin, who had an inherit advantage due to not needing to eat, was one of the few to not be driven insane, and while foraging for a drink, came across Leimato, who was somehow managing despite the obvious impairment of total blindness. They got along quickly, realizing that being enemies would doom them both, but eventually Puralin disappeared suddenly, starting his story, but leaving Leimato all alone.
Leimato spent centuries surviving in the rubble until eventually she met someone who didn't make sound aside from their voice, Cadaver. They were sent over to try to find Leimato, as Puralin was wondering if they were still alive. Eventually, with the help of Tari (one of the OCs of @lulladoraburgers), she was rescued, and now resides where a ton of other misfits live (aka the rest of my characters aside from Starfy, Concept, and Puralin).
Hi chat I thought of a cool little thing that's mostly inspired by a game I've played a bit recently (Maiden & Spell) and for once it isn't a character
So, in the game, there's a lich character (who is obviously undead), but since she doesn't want to control skeletons and whatnot, she uses healing magic in the shape of flowers and butterflies, however in the universe, if an undead uses a healing spell, it becomes an offensive spell. I thought this was genius so I wanted to give that quirk to a character but also have the inverse be true, with certain healing spells also damaging the undead if it wasn't cast by an undead
So now, Obitus (Cadaver's friend) knows healing magic that follows these rules, however I wanted to specifically point out some interesting interactions since some of my characters aren't quite dead or alive:
Veritas always gets hit by healing spells no matter the source
Byte always gets healed by healing spells no matter the source
Terri is treated as undead if she died and came back within the past week, otherwise she's treated as living
Ardens swaps between undead and living constantly and erratically, but never stays as one for more than a day
Pericutus (the only one here that isn't a glitch) is fully immune to ALL magic, making it unable to be healed OR damaged by these spells*
Ok once again not staying for long however I have some new stuff for Ardens
So first the most major thing, the joke character has some depth to their backstory now, I've mentioned them being a glitch a few times already but they never actually knew what a glitch was until recently. When they learned, they immediately said it was wrong since they never died, saying that everyone told them that when the power plant they were in began to have a meltdown, they got in a bunker with the rest of the workers and were perfectly fine, just that the bunker didn't stop any of the radiation, and the workers were ok in the end, along with Ardens themselves. However, what actually happened was that they got into the bunker and the entire plant exploded, vaporizing everything in the immediate vicinity and sending huge shockwaves to destroy everything in a large distance, with Ardens getting annihilated but coming back by some unknown cause, thus making them a glitch. When they were told that they did end up dying, they immediately began to have a breakdown, both by a panic attack from the thought of their family and entire neighborhood lying to them directly, and physically, with their wings and ears glitching out a LOT due to the extreme emotions they felt. Eventually they calmed down, but they're going to have a LOT of stress that they'll do anything to hide, as they want to try to cheer everyone up
Ok that one was really long so much shorter one, they've been building a teleporter for months now after suddenly gaining the knowledge and tools to make one. Only thing to note is that it looks very similar to the teleporter from Terraria
Final thing, their pockets are little bags of holding and have a TON of things in them, including a small mace, a paper labeling their autism diagnosis (yeah theyre so far the only character confirmed to be autistic iirc), a pipe bomb with an incredibly small fuse, 11 copies of a Kasane Teto figurine (SynthV design and holding a baguette if you were wondering), 2 headbands that have working drills that are shaped and coloured like Teto's hair style, a small version of the Rosetta Stone written in invisible ink (well, they used to have it, now its just laying in the room where Ardens is making the previously mentioned teleporter), a small hand mirror which began the whole thing about them being a glitch (as glitches do not appear in mirrors), and an old Polaroid camera that showed more proof that Ardens was a glitch (as their face, or at least their eyes, are covered in photos of any kind in any way, and it depends on the glitch, like with where Ardens' eyes would be in a photo being scratched out), along with HEAPS of metal and tools
Ok I'm not gonna do my usual routine because eepy but I vaguely mentioned a new (true) paradox character and wanted to share their current design
Will I go with this? Probably not, there's nothing outstanding that could be the "mood detector" (like Puralin's antlers) other than the ram horns and streak of hair, and I don't have a current explanation for the stitches, but there's still a good chance I go with this design since it's still a design I like. If y'all want to say if I should keep the design or not, feel free to tell me
Actually random lore fact about Ardens since I've been thinking a lot about them recently
Because of a relatively niche song with Teto in it called Mesmerizer by 32ki (im joking last i checked it has 54 million views), despite Ardens acting very cheerfully they're actually VERY aware of the horrors of reality, but they act happy so the negativity doesn't get to them
Ok chat a few updates, I'll end off with lore since it involves my most gruesome character yet, I'll warn y'all when we get there, ANYWAYS-
I'm back on that Teto grind (i rediscovered why i like kasane teto)
Been playing Garden Warfare 2 a lot recently since Spamton Rux is actually selling a good ability for a character I use, Rainbow Heal Flower for Sunflower, but I needed to go from 8k coins to 500K COINS which I completely grinded out yesterday then I mastered Sunflower right after that. Can't wait to master a completely different Sunflower and go through the pain of leveling them up 50 times again (im close to unlocking stuffy flower itll be worth it)
Unlocked Fire Cactus today, for a sniper character with damage fall off I was at PEAK performance, even got the most vanquishes in a game multiple times (fire may be a bit broken but it was all because I was actually landing shots really well, even against IMPS at ALL ranges)
Tried using Engineer for once in my life, I see why people play that class but god damn I have awful luck when I try to play as them (i just want turf takeover where the zombies are attacking and im on the zombies side. let me build my fUCKING TELEPORTERS)
Mystery Portal this month is fun, you're given a completely random character with no upgrades (no variants) and you swap every time you die, oddly balanced (if it werent for the super speed)
Ok so this is the part where I talk about lore but this planned character is gonna be very body horror-like, so stop here if you don't like that stuff (nothing will be shown, I lack a design)
If you're still here, great, strap in since I'm bad at sugarcoating
So this character's gimmick is going to be physically cutting/ripping themselves apart when certain parts of their body fail or just become inconvenient but being able to mend other body parts to themselves like some fucked up amalgamation (no stitching required, sorry Frankenstein). However, the ONLY way to kill them is by reducing them to ashes, atoms, or snapping them out of existence; even destroying their entire head won't work, they don't have a weakpoint. In combat, because yes I've thought of this already, they'll be VERY slow and predictable but it's impossible to block their attacks or make them flinch/freeze.
Quick addendum, yes they can perform surgery on themselves, and yes they forget that people REALLY don't like seeing that but they do have the decency to be somewhere private
This is all I've got for now, thanks for listening to me talk about horrors barely within human comprehension
Chat you aren't gonna believe this but the weirdcore character is ready
This is Periculum (from the Latin words of "danger" and "safe"), a 15ft tall amalgam that's one of my more interesting characters
Personality wise, they're actually somewhat childish, often silently playing with toys, however their actual age is unknown (they would be an adult though)
Gimmick wise, they can see into anyone's past, with a few limitations: If the person has died (whether they came back through resurrection or spontaneously appearing again) or underwent a total change to the point that it's basically an entirely new person, they can only see what happened after those "events" happened (for example, they could only see after Terri's most recent death, but not the death itself)
Speech wise, they talk in a very indirect and figurative(?) way. For example, when they're thirsty, they'd say something like "The flowers call out to the river." They also tend to react to someone's past in the same way, so if they saw Byte's past (up until creation, which was them splitting off from Veritas) they would say something like "The moon's light cures all." A special interaction they have is with Malignans, where their smiley face would turn into the monochrome gif of an eye (the popular one) and they'd exclaim their hatred of the person, such as by saying "Some sins cannot be forgiven."
A bonus thing to mention is that their limbs aren't physical, but their legs are kind of there, which is how they have a height. In fact, they can change how long their placebo legs are so they can fit into smaller spaces (cant grow them past the usual size though), although that'd drag the dress against the ground. Also they do have hands, but they aren't attached, even if they can't go too far out.
(Picrew link is unfortunately unavailable, it may have been taken down between me making this design months ago and posting it here)
