I’m a she/her cis straight woman who has had a pixie haircut pretty much exclusively since middle school around 2010. And just in recent years, I’m getting so much more hate for it online from trolls because of the anti-trans movement.

Idk I don’t say this to complain (I’m fine) but to acknowledge that the rhetoric at least online has gotten so much more hateful toward anyone who doesn’t conform to really old gender norms (pixie cuts on cis/straight women was pretty normalized like decades ago??)

My work (I’m a journalist) shared my staff profile on Facebook and trolls were like ‘what is that,’ and ‘I thought ___ was a boy’s name.’

What is this middle school? Lol embarrassing for them.
