The two girls were laying on a space on the floor where trees weren’t invading their space. Gazing up at the sky above them, despite the sunlight going into their eyes. Scarlett had sensed daddy needed a break from them, and had chosen to take her little sister away from the crowd for a moment. “See that one? It looks like a horse.” Scarlett pointed out, and Pixie followed her finger, giggling at the funny shape of the cloud. 

“Puh.” Pixie pointed to another, her talking a little better when she was around Scarlett than with other grown ups. 

“Puppy?” Scarlett asked and followed her eyes, grinning at the cloud that looked like some odd combination of a dog and a series of popcorn. Hearing a small noise from another kid, Scarlett sat up and grinned, her attention went toward Riley, waving him over. “Riley, come play with us.”

A Good Catch Up || Kiyoko

When she said she’d clean up, she didn’t picture it to be like this. Though, Debby should have expected nothing less from her children. She picked up the balls in the living room, and the discarded dolls and lego bricks, before resuming washing the dishes in the kitchen. Low and behold, by the time Mrs. Sulkin stepped back into her living room, every single toy she had put away was back on the floor again. Scarlett on the couch, arms high in the air. 

“It wasn’t me!” The girl pointed to her little sister, shaking her head avidly. “Pixie Stix did it.”

A sigh slipped through her lips, and she scooped the laughing girl into her arms.

“What am I going to do with you?” Debby pressed a kiss to her forehead. One handedly cleaning the mess up, making sure Pixie wasn’t getting any where near the toys now. 

Thankfully she had just gotten the last one in the toy bin when the doorbell rang. Scarlett perked up like an excited puppy. 

“Come on, let’s see who it is.” Debby chuckled, leading her toward the door. She knew it was Hayles, but Scarlett had little to no idea. And boy, had that child missed her Aunt. 

It was only a second before the door opened and there Scarlett was, shouting at the top of her voice, “AUNT HAYLES!” before she threw her little arms around Hayley’s middle, surprisingly tall now for her age. 

Debby gave a soft smile to Hayley. “It’s nice to see you, Kiyoko.”

I'm thankful for all the pickles and peanut butter before me. Like seriously. Damn.
