Ama~Pixie Pop: Gokkun Pucho
Mayu, the daughter of a cafe owner, is down-in-the-dumps unlucky in love--until she meets Puchyo, the magical fairy of beverages. Now, whenever Mayu drinks something, she transforms accordingly-milk makes her grow, water turns her invisible, and pork soup turns her into a cute little piglet. But what will help her win the man of her dreams?
Writing (6.4/10)
The writing overall was okay not the best not the worst either. The pacing could have been better, but when you only have 15 chapters the pacing most of the time will be bad. I liked the incorporation of different holidays and seasons but, it made the series seem to fast. I like the concept but it could have been executed better.
characters (5.8/10)
Mayu was the classic clumsy but, cute to everyone but the love interest kind of protagonist that's in every type of shojo manga that has ever been made. She could apparently make like no mistakes and was very “mary-sue”. Hell even when she was a pig she was a mary-sue. Overall I didn't really like her that much. She reminded me of Lucia from “Mermaid Melody” because she was really clingy and what not. Plus the fact that she only ever uses here power to stalk her crush is really annoying.
Amamiya was a normal shojo protag as well in the fact that he had all the same troupes as anyone else. “he was nice at first but then he got older and become cold and a jerk but I still love him”I mean honestly it's like the same formula over and over every single time.
Hiiragi was an annoying little brat who thinks that she can have anything she wants because shes intitled and is rich, in fact, she gets worse in the end because she has memories with Amamiya, like sister just because you were little kids and said you were gonna be together doesn't mean his feelings haven't changed since six years ago.
Puchyo was kinda annoying but honestly was just more of a background character expect when she had her comic relief moments. I can't really remember the rest of the supporting cast names which should tell you something, but the friend of Mayu was kinda cool and I like her side love story with the other guy.
Artwork (7.2/10)
The artwork was probably the best thing about this manga. it was cool and refreshing with nice detailed backgrounds. The appearance and hair of the cast were very nice and cute and I really enjoyed them.
Enjoyment (5.7/10)
This was something that I was able to knock out in a few hours. It wasn't unbearable to read nor, did it have me wanting more by the end of the series. It was alright, not too exciting but it also wasn't boring and, the idea of a magical girl, whose magic power is that she changes her form or personality by drinking something is kinda cool, I mean I see where it was going but just wasn't as good as the hype. My Favorit part was when they were playing volleyball because I love volleyball.
Overall Score is 6.2/10
