F/O Merry May Day 28: Holding

Pix never was really able to hold onto her memories.

But now that she was here, she was able to reach back and grab those moments in the air, like her problems went away...

... As if. She still forgot shit, and holding onto her memories was a gamble, just like always.

But looking upon Sumia, and her smile... that was something Pix would never forget seeing. That was something Pix would hold onto. Pix wanted to hold onto more about her, and the more she held on, the more she was concerned.

Why was she holding onto so many memories when her memory was so shitty? she forgot who cooked breakfast the other day, forgot when it was her turn to wash dishes, forgot her orders- but she remembered Sumia’s hair, glistening with water, from last month. It was maddening.

Nowi clung onto her arm, and with glittering eyes, said, “You might have a crush on her!”

Pix’s mind held those memories in front of her face.

and Pix mumbled, “oh.”

Cuddle Tales 2: Sumia

When Sumia entered the room, Pix was huddled up in the bed, clutching what appeared to be her purse to her chest. She looked down at it, mumbling something under her breath.

“Pix?” Sumia said, and Pix shot her eyes up to the door, then looked away. “Pix, what’s wrong?”

“...Nothing. Nothing should be wrong.” Pix said, gripping the purse tighter. “And yet...”

Sumia approached the bed, and sat on it. Pix looked up to Sumia, grip loosening on the purse. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Pix shook her head, instead rolling over to place her purse beside her, then turning back over. Her face seemed to be red, but that might’ve just been just how she had been cuddled up in the blankets. “... Lay next to me.”

“Pardon?” Sumia said, eyes widening, and she actually felt a little warmth to her cheeks. “But i’m-”

“I want to... c-cuddle with you.” Pix sounded like she had been deliberating over those words. “Please...?”

Sumia had to, at those eyes. She rotated her body, and slid herself under the blankets. Pix squirmed a little bit, adjusting the blanket around herself, as well. 

The two lay there, staring at each other, before Pix grabbed Sumia’s hand. Sumia flushed, face seemingly turning red, before Pix started to rub her fingers.

“... This is comforting.” Pix said, “For reasons you wouldn’t know of.” She pressed Sumia’s knuckles to her forehead, and smiled. “...cold... I am really warm right now.”

“So am I,” Sumia giggled, lifting her other hand to her own forehead. “Must be the warmth of the blanket!”

Pix nodded, and closed her eyes. Sumia closed her own eyes, and as she started to drift off, she thought she heard the other say, “I sure hope it is...”

F/O Merry May Day 19: Lost

Oh, she was so incredibly lost.

Pix had no natural sense of direction, and the only thing she knew to look out for was ‘town lights’, so naturally, when going into the forest, she got lost. Her fire magic provided a light, but when night fell, she would have to snuff it to make sure their enemies didn’t find them.

She wanted Sumia, but Sumia was up in the sky, providing air support.

God, she missed Sumia chatting with her while they were walking. Pix looked up to the sky, hoping for a glimpse of the girl she loved to chat with. No sign of any pegasus. Pix huffed, and continued to walk. She would end up in the next town and just ask for the shepherds. That totally wouldn’t get her killed.

She hated being in these parts of the woods, where everyone hated people with Ylisse. She hated being lost. She hated not having that smile to guide her out of this dark forest.

Pix just wanted to make it out of here alive.

F/O Merry May Day 16: Removing

Warning for blood real quick here!

It hurt.

Pix struggled to keep her robe hood on, trying to blink the tears out of her eyes. The lance was pushing into her skin, and red seeped down her purple and blue outfit, dripping onto the ground. She could feel her body screaming, but there was one advantage to being hurt like this, even as her eyes were tearing up, she could do something to help.

She reached her hand forward, and grabbed the hand of the soldier- the poor grimleal soldier, body commanded by a force greater than they were. Her heart was pounding, which only made it start spilling faster. The Grimleal was terrified.

“For...” The soldier said, “For our grima to bring us salvation...”

Pix gripped harder to the hand that wasn’t shoving a spear through her abdomen. She could barely remember the spell, and crap, her eyes were closing, and the blood still dripped onto her shoes, drip drip, and the pain was starting to be blinding.

“Mum!” Someone called, and Pix felt a wave of regret.

Cynthia... Bubble...

“May your god,” Pix said, her magic starting to glow once again, “be cursed. His body, shattered, and his mind thrown to the wind. May his gifts of prosperity curdle with time, and may other bonds take his place.”

“Mom, what-”

Pix could feel herself slipping away.

“I shall remove myself from this world,” She hissed, “And this curse will be placed!” And a shine emitted from her body, and the soldier pulled out the weapon, bringing another sharp instance of pain to her pain-wracked body.

That must’ve... hit something... important...

“Mom!” Cynthia skidded down in front of her, Caeda flapping down beside her. “Mom, what did you do?!” Her black hair was bobbing around her, tusseled by the wind of the battlefield. Bubble landed on the ground, followed by Celica, and Bubble was cursing.

“I am... trying to make sure... he can be affected by what you do.” Pix coughed, and a few splatters of blood landed on her robe. Cynthia paled, and she instantly climbed on her pegasus and flew off. Pix was definitely in pain.

“Mum...” Bubble sighed, her curses dying down. “... you used that one spell you told me to never use.”

“Because,” Pix coughed, and the pain spread from her gaping wound again. “Because it may help you succeed, and permanently destroy... him...”

Bubble rested a hand on Pix’s chest, closed her eyes, and got up suddenly. “I need to make sure your wound is stopping with the blood. Mum, hang in there!” She turned around and darted for her horse, searching the pack on the side.

Pix was not able to see what was going to happen after that, as her eye sight was blurring. She smiled, and whispered, “Naga... please, let this help my past self... have my children... know who she is. That is all I beg of you...”

“Quiet Me”: write a drabble about one character trying to calm another down

Pix was slightly freaking out. Only slightly. Yeah, that’s what she was saying to herself, after tearing the blankets off of her bed and pacing around, pacing around, mumbling to herself. Trying to comfort herself.

It wasn’t working. Back where she came from, she would’ve distracted herself with some stryder7x videos, or maybe read tumblr, but nope. She didn’t have that, and it was too dark to read.

“No, stop that...” She growled, louder than she was meaning to. She pressed her hands against her forehead, nails digging into her scalp. “Stop thinking that! Stop!”

There was a knock against the door, and instantly, Pix tore her hands off of her face and smiled. “Who is it?” Who was up this late at night?

Someone pushed the door open slightly, and who else peeked in the door but Sumia, the very girl that Pix had been gaining a bit of a crush on? Sumia saw Pix’s forehead, and she swung the door open, gripping onto Pix’s shoulders and staring at her forehead.

“... are you doing okay?”

“Yes,” Pix lied, putting her hands behind her back. “Why are you up this late? Don’t worry about me.”

Sumia’s eyes narrowed, and her eyebrows furrowed. She pulled against Pix. Pix let Sumia guide her to her own bed, and they sat down. Pix was fidgeting, her thoughts racing and pulling in thoughts she didn’t want.

“Pix,” Sumia said, her eyes glancing down at Pix’s wandering hands. “Tell me. You said that where you came from had unique fairy tales, and that you’d never heard of the ones here?”

Pix looked up at Sumia, before pressing her hands together. “Uh, yeah... I should tell you some, actually...”

And the two talked over fairy tales and Sumia was astounded at cinderella, the end

Pix stretched herself out, arms above her head, and back curving. She could her bones shift and sort of crack, relieving her arms from the stasis she had them in while she was writing. She had sat there for... she looked at the clock. At least two hours? Damn. She got up from her seat, and headed out of the room.

After rubbing her eyes, she noticed that Sumia was cooking. Her eyes widened, and she walked over. “Sumia! I didn’t hear you come home, I’m sorry about that!”

“No, you’re good! I’m just glad to see you out.” She laughed, then turned back to the pot she was cooking in. “I got the ingredients you asked for, and I’m cooking them into a nice, healthy stew!”

“Hah...” Pix really wasn’t looking forward to that, but hey, she got what she wished for. She looked at the table, full of groceries, and noticed something out of place.

“Sumia,” Pix mumbled, picking up the package and staring at it. The package looked similar to your normal sugar package, that was for sure... but that was the issue. “...Why did you buy sugar? I didn’t request that.”

Sumia blinked, and turned from her cooking again, stirring absentmindedly. “Uh... you did. Remember, when we were texting earlier?”

Pix frowned. How did Sumia get sugar from salt? “Sumia, I sent you salt.” Nevertheless, Pix pulled out her phone and swiped it open, still holding the sugar package in the other hand.

As Pix read, Sumia seemed to realize something, and put a hand against her face. “Oh no,” She gasped, “I’ve made a huge mistake...”

Pix turned around, eyes widening, and dashed for her wife, giving her a big hug. “Sumia,” She mumbled, “It wasn’t your fault, I promise. You were only following something that you thought was wise. I just messed up because of damn autocorrect...”

The only sound was of the water sizzling and popping on the stove top.

“...How did you send sugar instead of salt?” Sumia asked, laughing. “How does one do that?”

“I don’t know, don’t tease me!” Pix huffed, laughing herself. “C’mon, Sumiaaa. stop laughiiing...”
