Michael for @pizzatch
Waking up again after assuming he would be dead had been just as surprising this time as it had been the last. So much for ending the story...
Michael had learned to adjust. Things hadn’t changed too much, but there definitely were advancements he had missed. Rebuilding himself alone had been difficult, but he had managed. From memory, he had crafted something to help him avoid living in the shadows again, something that made him look more palatable to the naked eye. He could blend in easily with normal people again. Maybe he would be able to live a semi-normal life. He had for a time.
A familiar brand name, however, had eventually caught his attention. Henry had hoped it would fade into the past, but here the name was plastered on billboards and neon signs. It had put a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach.
Amongst the crowds of family units, Michael entered the building. He paid his way in despite being clearly childless and wandered. Everything was so bright and shiny, almost disorienting. It was a blast from the past, themed in a so clearly ‘80s style. It was so much larger than what he had experienced when he was younger yet it made him feel like he was a stupid teenager again.
As he looked around the “Pizzaplex”, he felt both impressed and somewhat confused by a lot of what he saw. The number of robots used exceeded the number that they had ever had before. Everywhere he turned, there was another one offering something to a patron from maps to sustenance.
Freddy’s had gotten an upgrade. That much was clear.
Overwhelmed, Michael found a place to sit near an “under construction” area and dropped down. He hadn’t seen anything overtly malevolent, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t anything. People hadn’t noticed before either.
“What are they hiding...”
He mumbled to himself.
