They’re best friends and do everything together. They have such an easy back and forth banter with each other that they don't have with anyone else.
When Piper cried on Annabeth’s shoulder about realising she was gay and breaking up with Jason she was worried it would make their friendship different, but it didn’t, not at all.
When Annabeth and Percy began to argue more and more Piper was always there for her, no matter what time it was.
They are always laughing together and sometimes people mistake them for a couple because they look at each other like they're in love, and they are but they don't know it yet.
They're constantly going for walks round the lake and ice cream or coffee and one day they get ice creams and go sit on the little pier of the lake and no-ones about because its the middle of the year and most campers have gone home and when Annabeth’s ice cream falls off her cone and into the water Piper can’t stop laughing and Annabeth has this cute grumpy face and Piper can’t help herself she's so in love and she's been hiding her feelings for months because Annabeth is probably straight and wouldn't think of her that way anyway and sometimes Piper cries when she's alone because she loves this girl, she wants to hold her hand and lay in bed with her on a sunday morning and maybe even raise kids together in a cute little house with a golden retriever and she can really see herself living the perfect of perfect lives with this girl yet Annabeth will never love her back but she goes for it and she kisses her there by the lake and she cannot believe it because Annabeth is leaning into the kiss, kissing her back.
When they finish kissing they just stare into each others eyes and Piper smiles. Annabeth is studying her and her hearts racing because she's thinking wtf have I just done??? She is so worried for a second that she's ruined the best friendship she’s ever had in her life until Annabeth grins and kisses her again and this time its not a chaste kiss its a full on snog and Piper rests her hand in Annabeth’s hair and Annabeth’s hands are on her hips and its not a wtf have I just done anymore, it’s a why didn't I do this sooner.
When they stop their little make out session in the middle of CHB Piper just says. “I’ve been wanting to do that for a while.” as seductively as she can but the massive grin on her face means its not seductive at all but Annabeth loves her all the same.
“Why didn't you?” Annabeth asks. “You know, you’re gonna have to take me on a date now.” She tells her.
Their first official date is going for a picnic under the stars and Piper tells Annabeth all the cherokee myths and legends she knows as she lays on Annabeth’s knee with Annabeth running her fingers through her hair and after, when it gets too cold they go back to Pipers beat up car and cuddle in the back seat and its a perfect date.
When Annabeth moves away to university Piper cries and Annabeth would never admit but she cries too but they face time each other every day and they make sure to see each other every couple of months and after a year Piper gets a job in the town Annabeth is in and they share an apartment and everything is perfect and its all Piper ever wanted and Annabeth didn't know she wanted it but she did.
