One of the coolest things I've ever experienced is snorkeling in the sea during a downpour. For a split second, you feel like you should care that you're getting drenched, but then you realize that you're already soaked. The sound of the rain drops hitting the surface of the water surrounds you, inside and out of the water. It's incredible.
