I have your Pokemon Red Gen 1 Theme. I was wondering the code I could use to add a "like" button on my posts. I don't see that option. Only a reblog button.

That’s because like buttons are for some reason MUCH harder to incorporate into themes than reblog buttons. reblog buttons are simple links like any other. But like buttons are a type of script that makes it a lot more difficult to manipulate into themes, especially if you want them to aesthetically fit into the pokemon/pixel vibe. I’ve learned to manipulate the like button a lot more since I’ve posted my Pokemon Gen1 theme, but unfortunately I don’t help other people incorporating them into their themes because it would take a lot of explanation. I’m so sorry friend!

hi!! I really love your pokemon theme and I was wondering if there's a way to remove the blogroll part/have it display something else? like have it be a second links tab or just show blank? thank you so so much!!!

hello, im using your gen 1 theme and id like the font size in the description/pagination to match the size of the stuff above the square divider! thank you so much and sorry if youve nswered this before, i went through all the tags and didnt find anything on it

You can change the pagination font by going into the HTML and finding #pagination {. From there, paste in the code font-family:'pkmn', Calibri; behind any semi-colon. After that, you can change the description font by finding /* DESCRIPTION TAB */ and pasting #tab4 {font-family:'pkmn', Calibri;} after it. That should do it :)

I have a feeling that someone already asked these questions before, but I didn't see either in the "tags for specific themes and their questions" link, so I have to ask. I'm using one of your Gen 1 themes, and I'm wondering if there's any way to replace the blogroll with something else, like a link to my submit box? And how do I change the links in the tags section so they go to whatever tag I want instead of the error page?

Sorry for the late reply! Go into the HTML section of the Customization Page, then press ctrl+f, and in the Find Box type “”. You can replace “#tab1” (or whatever #tab you want to replace) with“/submit” or whatever URL you choose :) Hope that helps!

Hey, I've been messing with a Pokemon Gen1 theme (just changing colors and things, nothing with the code) and I can't find gifs or images small enough to replace the ones in the 'Pokemon' tab. Do you remember where you found them/the size (so I could edit/make icons)? Thank you so so much!! (Also, if it has any effect, a couple of the pokemon i want to find/make icons for are from newer gens) I love your themes so much!

I got all those little sprites form the spriters resource, there’s also GSC sprites, but they’re unseparated and unanimated. There’s also AS/OM sprites, but they’re larger than 16px by 16px, which is the size of the sprites already there, so you’ll need to edit them some how to make them smaller, or just crop out a 16x16 square out of the pokemon you want from them haha. Hope that helps!

Hi! With basic html codes everyone can learn, you could insert something else in it’s stead! Here’s how to do that: Go into the HTML section of the Customization Page, then press ctrl+f, and in the Find Box type “”. Then replace

{block:Following}{block:Followed}

{FollowedName}{/block:Followed}{/block:Following}

with whatever you want! I hope that helps!

Hi there! I'm having some trouble with the permalink page for the Gen 1 theme. I'm trying to code in tumblr replies so that they can be viewed there, but I haven't found a html code that works with the theme. Thoughts?

Ah!! I must have forgotten to add this to theme OTL Yes okay there are two ways you can fix this:

Way 1, you can just repaste your theme from the pastebin website. I’ve just updated the coding to fix, so if you repasted it, it would fix the bug as well as keep all your color and image customizations :) However, if you made customizations in the actual CODING, doing this would reset all that. So, if you want to keep the edits you’ve made in the actual coding, then move onto way two

Way 2, the other way you can do this is by going into the html code and press ctrl+f. And in the find box that appears, type “.notes blockquote”. And then after the blockquote’s css paragraph, paste this in:

.notes .answer_content { line-height:16px; font-size:8px; display:block; margin:3px 0px 3px 5px; padding-left:5px; color:{color:Permalink Text}; border-left:3px solid {color:Permalink Blockquote};}

And then in the find box type “.notes .source_tumblelog::after” and then after that css paragraph paste in this:

.notes .reply .action a::after { content: "used REPLY!"; text-transform:none; display:inline-block; margin:0px 5px; line-height:16px; font-size:8px; color:{color:Permalink Text};}

Okay, this is actually a real question. I don't like the post layout options; the pkmn is notes but you can also get there via the little notes x999 option to the left. I guess I also don't really know enough about posts to know the difference between Info and Permalink, but they seem to bring me to the same page. My honest problem is I HATE themes that force you to open a post separate to like/reblog, and want to know if there was a way to mess with the fight/item/pkmn/run to include those.

Unfortunately, while it is possible, reblog and like buttons are way to complex simply tell you how to add them in this theme :( You’ll have to know quite a bit about html/css to do that... If you decide you don’t want to take the time, you may have to choose another theme if you really want that index like and reblog button :( which is a shame because your customization look great! :)

In the mean time, Yes PKMN and RUN both lead to the permalink page (which shows who liked and reblogged this post) while on the index page. But on the actual permalink page, RUN leads back to the index page (like a return button) and PKMN leads DOWN to the notes (who liked and reblogged). FIGHT on the other hand, is already automatically selected, and thus is showing the date, the notes, the original poster and who you reblogged it from. If you know enough about html, I’m sure you can find a way to switch out one of these links for a like and/or reblog button :) ((though i have to let you know, like buttons are very annoying to deal with when it comes to html unless you REALLY know how to handle them... which i only learned recently myself!!))

Though now that I know there are people who really like that feature (because i personally don’t mind haha!) I will do my best to add it to new themes in the future, as well as add them to outdated themes when I update them (which unfortunately isn’t as frequent as i’d like).
