Here are the drafts of the main characters in Painted Lady. I wasn't happy with any of Marinette's designs. Chat and Beetle I didn't mind but wanted to do more with.

Before I get into more detail about each design, I'm currently writing the Painted Lady. I'm working on Episode 1 Chapter 1.

Painted Lady-

I didn't hate PL design but I thought it could be better. I wanted PL to look formal and showy but I don't think I really stuck the landing on the second try.

Because I threw out the bodysuit-required logic of the show I really had fun.

I kept the colors from the original and changed them around. PL mask is a butterfly folded in half. When she's using the akuma or in her case Tennin. (Angel) From what I learned akuma is devil or demon.

Because PL isn't evil, her lunar moths power up people into heroes with miraculous-like powers. And permanently powers up actual miraculous users.

When PL uses her powers she stays near the battle but never enters the battle as PL she'll enter as CloverBee or Espirt Vixen instead.

Crimson Beetle-

I really did like Crimson's design but once again no more bodysuit really helped. They'll get the jacket back after they lose the mask.

I wanted Crimson to look as far as Ladybug as I could while keeping the Ladybug theme. I also needed them to look vaguely evil, so that Chat's and Plagg dislike towards them makes more sense.

Crimson can see with the mask on, because of miraculous magic. But once they lose the mask they'll have dark red spots spread from their eyes to give the feel of a mask but not have one.

Chat Noir-

Chat Noir my son. I'm not giving my opinion on the show but geez. It is going far too hard on him and Marinette.

Chat has 2 versions of his outfit.

The first outfit has chains wrapping around Chat. Because the outfit is based on what the users wants. I imagine that Chat wanted to express that he feels trapped because the chains have no start or stop point feel like he has no way out.

If this suit was in the show, a lot of akumas would use the chains to cause harm to Chat.

However, after a plot point, Chat will be freed from his abuse. He'll break the chains and the gold will turn into Kintsugi. I didn't want to change his whole look for his second outfit, because being Chat has become a source of comfort. All he wanted was for the chains to be gone.

The green does glow in the dark.

CloverBee-

CloverBee is used after Marinette uses Vixen to pretend to be Ladybug to announce her retirement.

Marinette really wanted to make Clover look as far from both Ladybug and Marinette as possible.

However each of Marinette's forms has the same basic shape.

Which is shorts and long sleeves.

Clover is a mix of athletic and cute-ish styles. Clover's mask is supposed to look like a pair of goggles or sunglasses depending on how you look at it.

Clover does have real wings. She does fly with those wings.

The puffs of fluff? Still hold pollen that can heal or harm depending on what Clover wants done.

Clover is Marinette's 2'nd most used miraculous only behind Painted Lady.

Espirt Vixen-

The only thing I really didn't on Vixen was the pants and shoes but change is change.

Vixen is supposed to be fashionable. Marinette didn't try to change her appearance much for Vixen, because Vixen is mostly stealth.

Vixen didn't have good color distribution being a mostly black color scheme. I gave Vixen 3 major points of black her hair, skirt, and shoes. The rest is a mix of orange and yellowish-orange.

I'm working on the story. When each of these characters is introduced to the story I'll make a high res version of the clothing.

Here are some Painted Lady in DnD concepts. Sorry for my poor handwriting. I really like DnD but don't have anyone to play with. I was going to make DnD character sheets but can't find a place that has all the resources I would need for free. All the gods are based on their PL miraculous not the Canon.

My next post should be one of those where you give your character a voice so be on the lookout.

Marinette “Ultimate” form. The Combined powers of the Cat, Ladybug and Butterfly miraculous.

In the end of the Painted Lady Mayura kill each of the team members at the final battle. 

Vivienne (Ladybug), Adrien (Cat), Marinette (Butterfly), Lillian (Rabbit), Brethold (Bee), Aurora (Mouse), Marc (Fox), Nino (Horse), Luka (Turtle), and lastly Kagami (Dragon and Snake.)

Crimson, Chat and Painted Lady were the last three left. Paris was destroyed at this point. Crimson and Chat decided that a sacrificial play was the only option. Crimson and Chat engaged Mayura in a close fight. Before Mayura could grab the miraculous Crimson, and Chat threw their miraculous at Painted Lady and were killed.

Mayura after seeing that Chat was her almost son broke down.

Marinette upon catching the other 2 miraculous froze. She couldn’t feel Tikki or  Plagg in the miraculous. Marinette silently put both of the miraculous on. Marinette not saying a word. Transform in to the higher form.

Each of the miraculous turn pure white. The world asked Marinette a question. Marinette responded with her wish.

Marinette outfit was based off of a some inspirations I found while looking for ancient Chinese dress. After a few sketch I realized I also put some Sailor Moon Neo Queen Serenity in there. The hair was more Sailor Moon… I dialed it back a little. I wanted a simple and magical form, for Marinette “Ultimate” form.

About the PLAU I’ve decided fuck it. I’m not tagged ML anymore. And drawing what ever I want.

Nathalie and Emilie Painted Lady AU Lore

Nathalie and Emilie knew each other since they were children, 4 to be exact. Nathalie's father was the bodyguard to Gaël and Diane Graham de Vanily. Diane let Nathalie play with Emilie and Amelie. Diane was a designer that worked at home. Gaël is a director that traveled. Nathalie's father Gaston Sancoeur traveled with Gaël. 

While Emilie and Nathalie got along perfectly, Nathalie and Amelie did not. Amelie didn’t like Nathalie thinking she was trying to take her sister from her. Diane tried several times to explain that Nathalie is friends with both of them. This one sided feud got so bad that Emilie broke down and cried thinking that they both hated her. After that Amilie and Nathalie never fought in front of Emilie.

When Emilie and Nathalie were 10, they went into the Graham de Vanily mansion attic. They found Diane's wedding veil, Emilie and Nathalie had a “wedding”. Emilie swore to Nathalie that they would be married when they grew up.

Skipping a few years, Diane passed away due to complications during surgery. Gaël in his grief fired Gaston. Gaston left with his daughter. Nathalie and Emilie were 14 at the time. Nathalie swore that she would come back.

Emilie started acting in her dad’s movies at 16. During her first movie her dad gave her the peacock miraculous. (Not knowing what it is.) Emilie started to use the peacock miraculous to improve her acting.

Meanwhile Nathalie put her whole heart into her studies. She believed that if she got smart enough, then the Gaël would hire her for some job and she could be with Emilie again.

Sadly when Emilie was 17 her father introduced Emilie to Gabriel Agreste, her fiance.  Emilie with this knowledge fell into a depression. She started to use the peacock miraculous more. Cause the first stage of corruption. Mental.

Nathalie was heartbroken when she heard of the engagement. She was 20. She had read it on a tabloid website. She didn’t believe she couldn’t. She had reached out to Amilie asking if it was true.

Amilie had married a man named Isaac, a man she loved. Amilie confirmed that yes they are getting married, but no it was a marriage her father and Basile Agreste had set up. Emilie had no choice. Amilie reached out to her sister, giving her Nathalie information. 

Emilie invited Nathalie to the wedding. Where she cried into Nathalie’s shoulder up until the minute she had to leave to marry a man she didn’t love. 

Emilie was only 22 when she found out she was pregnant. She told Nathalie before she even told her husband. Emilie was able to convince Gabriel to hire Nathalie as Emilie's personal assistant while she was pregnant. Gabriel traveling around for his designs didn’t have any objections. Not realizing that Nathalie and Emilie had been having an affair. Emilie kept using the miraculous during her pregnancy. Causing another form of corruption, Physical. Emilie was sick her whole pregnancy.  This worried Nathalie a lot. Emilie finally told her about the miraculous and what it does. Nathalie begged Emilie to just stop using it while she was pregnant, saying that they didn’t know what it was doing to the baby. Duusu, having revealed themselves, agrees. Duusu said that no miraculous user had ever been pregnant and used the miraculous before. This was only true for Duusu who had been separated from their family for generations. 

Adrien was born a month premature. The only people who were there for Emilie were Nathalie, Amilie (who was 8 months pregnant.), Isaac. Emilie had asked to wear the peacock miraculous for comfort. (She didn’t use it, just wore it.) Another corruption piece. (Physical again.) 

Gabriel didn’t meet his son till he was 2 month old. When he did return he had the butterfly miraculous. Nooroo revealed that Emilie broach was miraculous. When Gabriel found out he started to make Emilie use it for more than just acting. Emilie did not want Adrien or Nathalie to be caught in this. Agrees. Emilie started to get worse. The corruption kept getting worse.

By the time Adrien was 6 Emilie was bed ridden. Emilie convinced Nathalie and Gabriel to take Adrien out for the day.

When they returned, Emilie was dead. She had known she was dying. 

Gabriel became delusional with the idea that if he had the Ladybug and Chat miraculous he could bring her back to life. Nathalie found out about the book, she found out that Gabriel knew about corruption and let his wife get sick. She found out he wanted to use the miraculous to get money and fame. She agrees to work for him, to raise Adrien, to find the miraculous. Nathalie's real goal is to bring Emilie back, take down Gabriel, raise Adrien, and spend the rest of her life with her family.

Am I choosing to make Gabriel a bastard...  Yes! Before Chat Blanc came out Gabriel was a father who was misguided... He became a full bastard after.

Day 12! 27. Family! This had taken way to long. To be honest if in the future more family members come out for Adrien/ Marinette, they will be ignored. 

Fun facts! Bridgette is a nod to PV Marinette, and Gabriel’s fathers design is also a nod to the PV Hawkmoth.

Yes, Marinette’s Paternal grand parents are divorced. 

Vivienne’s abusive grandmother never will have a face. Her dad is unknown to everyone except  her mother. 

Gabriel’s parents were also divorced.

Lillian and Brethold grandmother had a stroke.

Lillian uncle also has vitiligo.

Quick update Alya isn’t that important in the story anymore so I didn’t redesign her. Not much info on them... Enjoy! Next post will be hopefully be the redesigns of the canon hero designs in the Painted Lady.
