today is a high of 27/81 and not dry, here in the land of no ac, so i went to a lake with a place that rents umbrellas for seven euros (1.7 km from transit. i’ll hump in a light camp chair to save on rental, i draw the line at an umbrella) and it’s stunningly uncrowded for a warm sunday. i think maybe most people here don’t panic and stampede for the water till it’s 30, nice round number and all that. also apple weather said it was going to be cloudy all day. a functional lie. technically cloudy but only in the sunny with an asterisk sense
you don’t get the humidity relief of a sea beach, but the lake is delightfully cool. i already know this because i just had to chase the fucking umbrella into it. no bases, you just stick it in the sand like a stake, which seems incredibly simple and not particularly strenuous but is not something i excel at apparently
