From the 14th until the 219th of November the team of Resilient Thessaloniki joined forces with STIPO Thessaloniki and Tópio to inspire and train 15 architecture and spatial planning university students on the City at Eye Level and placemaking during Ecoweek in Thessaloniki 2016.
The workshop examined The Opportunity of the Sidewalk, seeking to highlight the challenges and opportunities related to the Vas. Georgiou Street in Thessaloniki: a mixed-use and high-traffic street connecting the eastern neighbourhoods to the center of the city, featuring arcade elements and active and interesting plinths.
In the attached video you may see the whole-week process and energy: from the introduction and application of the City at Eye Level game to the final results that combined all elements related to HARDware-SOFTware-ORGware approach and led to proposals with design elements, community engagement tools and policy-making recommendations.
