𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐔𝐏𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐀 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐓 .   a man who walked this earth long after his demise . those blue eyes had lost its spark .  heart still beating , but only as an act of the body's physical desire to function .  skin greyed &  remnants of las plagas filled his veins . ada felt an underlining sense of guilt stabbing her chest .  a weight she was not used to carrying .  however ,  she could not deny its existence .  after all ,  she was the one that provided information which led leon to spain in the first place .  her intended plan was to utilize someone she held high confidence for   ————   never imagined this being the outcome .  maybe she put too much faith into his capabilities ,  not that it mattered now .  leon was no longer here . but instead ,  a plague driven model stood in his place .  hazel optics shifted ,  falling onto an open biblical passage . 

“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

❛    . . . .     ❜    would hell truly follow suit ?  that may be the case ,  but she had to ask .  had to hope that part of him resided behind the infected visage .  even if she already knew the answer .   ❛    leon ————   you still in there  ?    ❜     do you still remember me  ?

she can tell there's something different about him - it goes beyond the way he looks and goes all the way to his temperament, which would honestly set claire off in an instant if not for the fact that leon's face is still so familiar compared to the honest to god abominations she's had to shoot at before.

so all claire does is lean against the door frame to give him enough space to walk through and in the humble space of her living room, one hand placed on the doorknob and the other hidden behind her back for reaching her gun quicker - just a precaution since these days it's getting harder and harder to see who's a friend or an enemy.

"you look kinda pale." she finally breaks the silence, and any other day she would laugh it off but now? she might as well think leon is a walking dead. narrowed eyes give him another look now that the lighting is better, her nose involuntarily scrunching at the sight of him. "so... is that a cold or it's time for me to put a protective suit on?"

"truthfully? i like to think so." the brunette stared at what the older man had become, he couldn't help but feel a mixture of sadness and pity for the former cop. still, he couldn't let those feelings interfere, this wasn't how things were suppose to go, first krauser and now leon, he was starting to wish that he never came on this assignment.

"i mean⸺" adrian started off, his handgun still raised slightly but not aiming quite yet. "⸺you must feel like you can easily take down a 17 year old." granted, the man has more combat experience and training but the teen has an ace up his sleeve so to speak.

however, adrian knows that he can't exactly rely on his secret abilities, useful as they are in a pinch. so if a fight did break out, he would need to hit hard and quick enough so that he could get the heck out of here. he had already arranged for the chopper to pick him up in another location, it was just a matter of getting there.

He looks up at him, raising a brow. The fact he had to witness Leon become infected… he could’ve helped him. He wanted to help him! He promised he would help. Instead all he can do is sigh while closing his eyes.

the redhead stared at the agent, well former agent now technically cause steve doubts that the man is gonna go back to the DSO, a small frown on his face but unnoticeable due to his mask. he wasn't sure what to do at this point, everything has been thrown into disarray when kennedy seem to have taken to the plaga and basically overthrow saddler.

does he go back to the HCF? does he stay? so used to taking orders, the redhead isn't sure on what to do himself. "what exactly do you plan on doing now?"

there was a throbbing in their head. a throbbing they only get when something related to the FILTH was near. then again that’s what THEY called it. the ones infected with a different parasite that attached itself inside and altered the host.  in a way, Dev wasn’t different from the rest of them. an infected skin bag. one that thought on a similar path and length of mental processing as the rest. but they still had somethings about them that was correct. 

like hearing a little snip of a twig making them wield their gun up rather harshly. looking down the barrel of their gun.

"L-Leon??   -"     frightened,   Ashley   took   a   step   back.   Though   her   gaze   didn't   divert   from   his.   -   it   wasn't   his   fault   things   were   like   this.   --   but   she   didn't   feel   one   hundred   percent   certain   he   wouldn't   harm   her.

Not   as   he   was   at   the   moment.   It   wasn't   wise   to   take   an   optimistic   approach   just   because   he   showed   a   side   of   his   former   self.     --   no   one   could   protect   her   now.   Not   even   the   one   intended   to   be   her   'Hero'  

".....T-That's   right.   --   you   were...   protecting   me.   So   please,   just   let   me   go.   -   I   ..   I   can   find   you   help   too"

it catches her off guard for a moment, all the big words lined up to win the argument when claire's initial question was just how are you feeling? and now she's not even sure she wants to know anymore. a simple mind your business would have sufficed. "well you don't look worse than last time, so maybe it's an improvement." she jokes, because pointing out he looks like shit doesn't really seem to be helpful anyway.

"so how am i supposed to take these words of wisdom?" the most rational part of her wants to believe leon is gone for good and the next step will be him chasing her with a chainsaw - the other still wants to believe he's somewhere, because if she has seen someone turn and still be sentient enough to recognise her and do the right thing once, maybe there's hope it can happen again. "would you keep the truth from me?"
