Friends - I'm aware I've been quiet since that whole plagiarism mess went down. I've been working on a full update/play-by-play which I'm hoping to post tomorrow. It's just been a seriously insane week (honestly just the worst timing for this shit to go down) and I want to make sure I've included everything I want to say in the post because I really don't want to have to revisit it.
It took longer than we expected, but it seems that Faith Ann (@/fandomimaginewasteland and @/fandom-reblogs-and-things) finally realized this blog has been doing its due diligence to support and protect creators.
She has responded with two videos on her personal Youtube which I will link below. We will address some of the things she says in her first response video, but let us first emphasize, the creators of this blog stand with the content creators who have NEVER plagiarized and we have a right to protect them and increase awareness about bad actors (re: you).
Response 1 (1 hr 20 min, no we're not kidding)
Response 2 (~40 min)
I think Faith Ann's response can simply be summarized as "Oh noooooo, the consequences of my own past actions!" *insert mad face here*)
Faith: "I haven't done anything wrong on my new accounts."
Us: ...Yet. Yeah, that's your pattern. You've done this at least 4 times that we know about where you delete and start again, swear you won't plagiarize, start off honest, then realize your shit isn't getting the attention you want, and then you rip off other writers AGAIN. (You also admit much later in this video, that essentially your entire fanfiction 'career' was basically founded on plagiarism and you refer to it as an addiction, so excuse out skepticism)
Faith: "I am engaged. I am going to be planning a wedding. I don't need this stress!"
Us: Congrats. Past you should have thought about the potential consequences of your actions before you became a repeat plagiarizer.
Faith: "You don't need to put my name out there."
Us: We only put out what you have yourself published now or on previous accounts, and yeah. We do. Because it is identifying information related to you and your bad actions on Tumblr and other platforms (namely, posting plagiarized content on Youtube as if it were your own).
Faith: "The whole reason this blog exists is because YOU don't know when to quit."
Us, laughing: No, hun. It's because you made bad choices in the past that hurt the fandom space, caused writers to leave and stop writing, and because NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND IS GOING TO BELIEVE YOU WHEN YOU SAY YOU'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN. Definition of insanity situation here... doing the same thing and expecting different results. We have a right to protect creators in this space and be vigilant. And YOUR actions have created the need for this. If you didn't want to be called out for being shitty, don't act shitty. :)
Faith: "My apologies in the past were somewhat bullshit, but the last one wasn't."
Us: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL you just said the quiet part out loud, hun. Again, why would we believe you?"
Faith: "Thanks for doing this around Christmas-time."
Us: Protecting creators from bad actors is a year-round gig. You're welcome.
Faith: "I like to write for a lot of characters and fandoms. What's your point?"
Us: Girl, the only point of listing all that stuff is to alert people in those fandoms... We're not trying to make a point. It's for awareness.
Faith: "It was inspiration, albeit plagiarized inspiration."
Us: ...do you hear yourself? There's no such thing as 'plagiarized inspiration.' THat's juST FUCKING PLAGIARISM.
Faith: "I will admit, me commenting on my own stuff was stupid. I don't know why I did that."
Us: ....
Faith: "I didn't send myself messages threatening to post my subdivision where I live."
Us: Yeah, we never said you did. You must have really pissed someone off with your bad behavior. We don't support doxxing and we wouldn't ever post details that personal about you, even if we have them. Doxxing people is scary and dangerous, and the FPWG doesn't support it or engage in it.
Faith, after reading out her own past "apology": "I'm not going to talk about @daryl-dixon-daydreams response because it made me kind of mad."
Us: No, no. You should read it and respond. Because everything they said in it was 100% valid, which is why it made you mad. Please, do talk about it. You should give equal time to the people you wronged as you are to yourself. (She doesn't. She mainly reads her apologies aloud and ignores the responses from the original creators she harmed)
Faith, in regards to deleting past blogs after she was caught: "Yeah, I deleted because I don't want to deal with your crap. I want to move on."
Us: I think it's more about realizing that you've burned those accounts by being a plagiarist... and by running away after people catch you. Who would want to stay and interact with you after that was revealed? If you don't want to deal with the consequences of your shitty actions, don't act shitty. How many times do we have to say it?
Faith: I only replied to one of my posts with another blog once. I don't send myself asks or requests.
Us: You previously also denied making that reply, so again... why would anyone believe someone who has been shown to lie as much as you do?
Faith: Other people call themselves simps. What's your point?
Us: It's for identification purposes that we mention it...
Faith: I've never used MySpace so I don't know what you're talking about. [in regards to her themes and blog 'looks']
Us: It's for identification purposes that we mention it... so people can watch for you and identify your accounts.
Faith, AGAIN: "I have not done anything wrong on this blog."
Us: fucking YET.
Faith: "Keep an eye on my blog. I don't give a shit. I'm not doing anything."
Us: We will. And it seems, based on your 1 hour and 20 minute response (and additional 40 min other response), that you do give a shit.
Faith: "I don't want to cause any more drama on Tumblr so I'm not posting about this there. More than you guys already have."
Us: You do realize that you're the one who precipitated all this 'drama', right? Like, your actions, Faith. This blog isn't about drama. This blog is about protecting the creators who work diligently at their craft, the ones you stole from.
Faith: "I don't have time for this shit."
Us: Seems like you do, for 1 hour 20 minutes of a response video + another 40 min response video.
Faith: "I have a lot of stress in my life right now. I have a lot of anxiety right now."
Us: You know who else felt a lot of stress and anxiety, to the point that you ruined something positive for them, maybe forever?@writeriguess. Yeah. When you plagiarized her. We all have stress. We all have shitty stuff happening to us. Deal with it like an adult. That isn't relevant AT ALL in this conversation. It sounds like you're trying to make yourself the victim here and get sympathy. Not okay.
Faith, in regards to posting the 'don't plagiarize me' text on her blog: "So many people on Tumblr do that."
Us: ...do you not know what 'irony' means? Genuine question. Maybe go look it up.
Faith: "Good luck with finding more evidence against me."
Us: Thanks! If there is evidence to find of further plagiarism, we will find it. So kind of you.
Faith then goes on to admit that the beginning of her entire fanfiction "career" let's call it, was based on plagiarism when she was just a kid. Yeah, kids are stupid. You made mistakes. But you're an adult now and have been repeatedly told and shown how damaging it is to the writers you rip off. There's literally no excuse. If it's an "addiction," SEEK HELP. WORK ON YOURSELF. Stress is not an excuse. Anxiety is not an excuse. ADD is not an excuse. Developmental disorders or learning disabilities are not an excuse in this instance. You knew what you were doing is wrong as evidenced by your attempts to hide it. Seek. Help. You're harming people.
Girl. Don't offer your phone number to strangers on the internet and don't offer to meet up with them either. JFC...
Faith: "I know that I should leave Tumblr for good and I said that I was going to last time."
Us: Yeah, if this is an "addiction" you fucking should. We don't want you in this space, which is supposed to be safe for writers and creators... That's kind of the entire point of this post and this blog.
To her credit, Faith has calmed down by the end of this HUGE response video she posted (seriously, it was arduous to get through) and she does apologize if she sounded like an asshole. I'm gonna tiptoe past that one... She reiterates that she doesn't plan to plagiarize, but again.... why the fuck should we believe her? At this point, awareness and vigilance are the best courses of action here.
We're still going to be watching, Faith. And if you do plagiarize, we will find out. Your apologies are empty at this point. I hope you are genuine when you say you are done with it, but we all have no reason to believe you.
(Full disclosure here, at the time of posting, we have not watched the second response video in its entirety, because since the first one was an hour and twenty minutes long, we don't know what possibly new things you could have to say. So, our responses and summaries end here with video #1.)
Hi guys, for those of you that are just arriving to the party, in short I have been plagiarised. You can check where to report the author who has stolen some of my drabbles on my page.
HOWEVER, I would like to add that there are some other authors who have also had their work stolen. If you recognise any of the below pieces of work as having already been published by a Klaroline writer, please, please take the time to report the author and ask them to take the story down (politely)
The username on fanfiction is a.s.hai. Below are the pieces that have been plagiarised (apart from mine)
Sweet Caroline
Drabble 1 @lalainajanes I think this bad boy is yours??

A Taste of Christmas
