it’s about our universal struggle to connect with others. the realization that most people in our lives sort of just blend into one or only remain memorable due to random circumstance. it details how difficult it is to discover a person with any sort of greater significance within our extremely self-centered lives, and how quickly that facade and excitement can fade, often due to our own insecurities and discontent with ourselves and the world around us. plus, it features one of the most intimate sex scenes in recent memory. it’s pretty fucking incredible.

Favorite non-standard whiskey drink?

Oh, hmm. My standby is bourbon, sprite, and Angostura, but I suppose that’s not quite non-standard. Maybe scotch and ginger beer? Surprisingly successful way to mix a hard-to-mix liquor; good for drinking off bottom shelf scotch.

Edit: Apparently it’s called a Mamie Taylor. Just make sure you make them with NON-diet ginger beer. Diet really cocks the flavor.
