Dawn
It breaks
and it aches,
tearing night from
the warm arms of
stars and
never have I
wished on them
this hard and
She planted
tulips
along the
boulevards
and said
'Life is fair
to those who try'
And five years later
there's nothing but
road and cars
mental scars to
laugh
at the physical
And I'd burn it
all down
sow the highway
with tulip seeds and
high grade grain
and pray that
Dawn
was strong enough
to light to way
Sunset,
least we ever forget
hides the pain
there's only black
never red or blue
at night
Pouring silver
down my back
only means I
was a hilt
before you
Forge the seal
forget the smoke's
bad
I'm burning
but fighting
a slow break through
Dawn
births a weapon
a semblance of
love and
determination
White flames
crawl
under the entire
nation
And the sun falls
only
to escape
a doomed altercation
