#plans foiled

The last few weeks have been rough with the family (3 ER visits and an urgent care) and work (store is going to digital labels). This morning, since I felt better--2 of the ER visits were me--I decided I was going to work on my dragon with some good ol' Criminal Minds in the background.

The furbabies have a different idea:

So in case you can't keep track... 🤣 that's Fergus on the left curled into Gabriel, who has become so adept at opening drawers we'll be installing child locks soon. And the lil queen Claire. The only one missing is Lucifer, and he's most likely upstairs in bed with the hubs.

It won't last long, so I'll enjoy the cuddle pile while I can. 💜💜

 could not My heart and my mind have never felt so aligned. But what's causing these tears is not as kind.

With planning and practice everything was in place. But just like everything else I should have been ready to brace.

My plans have failed their falling into tiny pieces. But what’s the surprise they are always only HALF decent.

checking off the boxes Making my lists. Making sure everything is perfect. But now I’ve clenched my fists.

My sister-in-law has been in labor since 2 AM this morning, and my brother has been by her side the whole time, which is really cool and awesome, and I’m very happy he’s there for her.

But it did fully foil my plans, because you see my brother reenlisted into the Navy, and wasn’t sure he was going to be there for the birth. So I planned to rock up, take a photo of his wife and kids, and send it to him with the caption.

“Shouldn’t have reenlisted now, I’m gonna steal your wife and children!” and now I can't… because he's a good father who cares about his family.
