What you get for Christmas says a lot about you.
A close friend of mine and her husband handed me their gift to me and said "most people would be annoyed at getting a recycled gift, but we knew you'd love it even more." It was her much newer Kindle e-reader! She had it reset and cleaned for me to replace the kindle ive been using since sophomore year of high school (10 years ago)! I love how it has a back-lit, paper-white, touch screen and I love how I also feel like I pirated Amazon because its not new. 😈
I'm currently finishing The Secret History by Donna Tart, the Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the healing of Trauma by Bessel van der Kolk, MD, and a Crack in Creation by Jennifer Doundna, PhD, and Samuel Sternber, PhD, on the kindle before I move on to the stack I got from my sister in law.
I also adore the cork (not foam or plastic!) yoga blocks and cotton yoga strap I got from my cousins. So much better than plastic, they are super dense but soft, will last a long time, looks cuter than the grimy foam over time, and is biodegradable!
And yes I have a black cat named KeeKee (short for 'kitty-kitty' since we waited so long to pick a name), she is a sweetie but she is shy and I am obsessed with her, so I love the cute sweatshirt I got from my bestie I met in undergrad. 🥺
I hope everyone had a great holiday and is ready to bury 2020 it it's dumpster fire ashes. Cheers to new beginnings and bullying Biden into doing his job. 🍾
