my coworker did! in fact, she did everything including cleaning out my car and taping a plastic bag over the window. she was truly a gem to me last night. plasticorc replied to your post “today ,”How awful! The dude who broke into your car did wrong. I hope he lands in jail soon. yeah, that’s what one of my other coworkers said. at the end of the day, it’s not me who did something wrong. all i did was leave my belongings in the car, and that’s definitely not a crime. breaking someone’s window and taking said belongings, however, is. i hope he ends up in jail too, but realistically speaking, i doubt he will. whatever, hope he enjoys the 75 dollars he stole off of me cause it won’t happen again.

amazingly enough the restaurant does sell Japanese curry poutine. normally I don’t like novelty poutine, but I’m a bit curious about it...

Kotobank says that it’s Edo period red light district talk and was originally polite. Iyami’s use is based off Tony Tani’s use of it, and he said he had gotten it from a Takarazuka Revue actress, so I would say it has more of a showbiz vibe to it now and likely isn’t considered very polite in the sense that it’s used sarcastically

the thing is that it’s not used by many people partially because it’s specifically an Iyami thing. I’ve seen it described on the internet as “something a rich aunt would use”

I think, regarding -san especially, writing him somewhat like a past-their-prime Golden Age film starlet would give enough of the vibe. that would actually combine pretty well with the fake-French thing

I have not been in an izakaya yet! but they are extraordinarily popular in Vancouver. not as much as sushi restaurants, but there are a lot of them, with local chains and all

I’ve noticed all internet foodie types order ebi mayo when they’re in one

Seattle has no culinary specialties that aren’t shared with or taken from Vancouver besides their coffee, so since I’m a Vancouver Person I end up treating Seattle with a kind of dismissal... I’m sorry Seattle-lovers everywhere

we got sushi which is more of my traditional birthday food hahaha
