Super exciting progress at @washingtonhistory today to transition their California Reliable from a very large display piece to a working press. @chrissharp3000 cleaned her up, removing layers of paint off the ink disk. We got new rollers and oiled everything... then more oil. The chase was locked up with painted wood type (John who?) and decades of dried ink. We pulled a few joyous WOW prints, and hope to fine tune the rollers and replace the broken/missing top feed board.
