After many weeks and a lot of newsprint I can finally say my broken stone project EDGE 2 EDGE is finally done. 3 prints, 3 broken fragments of stones, 2 frames, unknown hours of printing, and a little blood has resulted in these prints, showing all edges of the stone fragments, printed on a standard litho press.
Despite limited materials and much frustration I made it work! And you can too! Anyone can! My methods are haphazard but the basic idea is to make a wooden frame that is level with your stone and surrounds it ideally on all 4 sides, with adjustments as needed to make it close to flush with the edge of the stone, and set the pressure on the frame, allowing you to print all the edges as well as the full image without the scraper bar dipping or being damaged, resulting in unique and beautiful prints without the need for an offset press!
