Can I recommend my own fic as propaganda?
A Bright Blue Box shows Jenny meeting the fugitive Doctor and trying to convince her to travel together.
I just really love the idea that the Doctor's daughter is still somewhere out there and some version of them might run into her. They had such good chemistry and it took Jenny like 2 seconds to start calling her dad out on their bullshit.
And did you see the way 10 smiled and stood up straighter and the hope growing in his eyes when he let himself love her finally? Imagine what that could do to other incarnations, too, if they got to meet her (like the fugitive Doctor :) ).
And then the tragedy of them thinking she is dead. And she died for him. Pointlessly, because of a brutal moron. It's so sad and the 'I never would' so powerful.
Also I just really love how lifely and childlike and full of hope Jenny is. She would have been so good for the Doctor. She still could be.
Just, I know we didn't have them for long, but please think of the potential. And of what precious thing we had while it lasted.
(plus it's so funny to me 'the Doctor's daughter' comes from a machine. Mostly because of the whole looms-thing, I just think it really fits the show.)
But, like, Ryan and Graham are super sweet, too, so no judgement if you'd rather vote for them.
I LOVE BOTH OF THEM I COULD NOT DECIDE
also, this DEFINITELY counts as propoganda!!
Okay, listen! Literally 90% of people are not going to know who Eight, Liv and Helen are because most DW fans haven't listened to Big Finish - and honestly, you're missing out on some of the best DW content there is!
But anyway, point being: If you don't think there is a greater friendship than Eight, Liv and Helen you are wrong and here is why!
First of: They are actually a well balanced team with each of them having strengths and weaknesses. With Liv and Helen, the Doctor isn't always the smartest person in the room! They are a super capable lot but also able to be complete idiots together, it's wonderful. They're all doctors! Like, actually. Liv is a med-tech, so an actual doctor, and Helen is a doctor of linguists. Helen can fly the TARDIS and Liv can fly almost anything else, they're super smart, brave and determined - and take none of the Doctor's shit!
They rely on each other SO MUCH, having complete faith in each other, some moments include:
Eight: "Liv, Helen, you're my best friends. I believe in you!" (Doom Coalition 4.1 - Ship In A Bottle)
Helen: "We’ll save you." Doctor: "I don’t doubt it. I have faith." (Ravenous 2.2 - Better Watch Out)
Liv: "Come on, Helen. Please, please. The Doctor had faith in us, and I’ve got faith in you. Don’t let me down. You never have before." (Ravenous 2.3 - Fairytale of Salzburg)
Helen: "They will find me, you know. The Doctor and Liv. They’ve come for me once, they’ll do it again." Missy: "Maybe they will, maybe they won’t." Helen: "Trust me, they will." (Ravenous 4.3 - The Day of the Master)
I can't name all the times these guys have put themselves in harm's way for the others. Helen literally spent 40 (!) years of her life travelling alone in the TARDIS to save her friends, giving up her life to do so, if it hadn't been for Liv returning her youth to her.
Their bond is so strong, it's unreal. They have been through SO MUCH together. They even make a sort of suicide pact when they believe there is a chance they will all fall victims to vampires! The Doctor asks Liv to stake him, if the time comes, and Liv assures Helen that if worst came to worst, they would "go out together in a blaze of glory."
Also, their friendship dynamic is outstanding! Where the Doctor is his usual excitable, mad self, Liv is sarcastic and outspoken, while Helen is mild-manner and optimistic. They balance each other perfectly in every way that matters!
They love each other unconditionally, there is no doubt about that, (Liv and Helen in a not entirely platonic way but that's a different story XD), I mean, the girls threw Eight a birthday party of goodness sake.
And let's not forget that they're all queer in some way or another! Which is reason enough to vote for them!
I will leave you with memes to make the point for me.
Make an informed decision with your vote... and listen to the Eighth Doctor audio range XD
