"Freewriting. Exercise/Application. Page 40-41. April 14,2018"
Audience: People who drive cars, government officials, regular commuters (students and workers)
Purpose: Awareness from the benefits of commuting
Point of view: Second Person Point of View
Second pre-writing strategy:
Commuting may perceived as "ang hassle lang" or "baka ma-late lang kapag nag-commute" but it has advantages that you guys should know atleast.
When you're a student and the school you're attending to is too far from your home, someone may suggest you to just rent an apartment or live in a dormitory. Yes, it's a good idea but if you're in need of money, you would rather take a public transportation than paying a bill worth of thousands.
Living in a dormitory may be advantageous to some, but others find it as "difficult to adapt". Aside from the routine where most of us who have parents that prepares our meal and things everyday when going to a school or work, it will also cause homesickness and the difficulty of adopting the new surroundings.
Dorm living is costly. You will have to pay the rental, electricity bill and water, food, and other necessities. In some way, dorm living would make you an independent citizen, pero kagaya nga ng sinabi ko hindi lahat kaya.
Commuting? Yes, hassle iyan sa una. But if you would just stay in your comfort zone at sasanayin mo iyang sarili mo na sumakay o mag-drive ng isang sasakyan, hindi mo malalaman at mararamdaman ang kultura ng iyong bansa. You will be a person who doesn't know how much money you'd give to a "kundoktor" when you will have to take a public transportation and head to your assigned destination. People would make an expression to you as "laki kasi sa yaman kaya walang alam" or "hindi siguro iyan mabubuhay nang walang sariling sasakyan, kawawa naman"
Commuting is not just a mere travelling, but it is a way of socializing to other people. In just saying, "pasuyo po ng bayad" and asking you "saan galing?" is already a communication. In commuting, you will get the oppportunity to enjoy the external life from school and work.
Commuting will be a training ground and a practice inorder for you to maintain a routine of waking up and leaving your house at an early time to get to your workplace. There is no assurance that your expensive private vehicles will not be vanished. That's is why you must train yourself to travel alone, move out from your comfort zone and experience both lifestyles.
