Plavecký Castle, Slovakia
The castle is located on the western side of the Malé Karpaty (Little Carpathian) mountain range in Slovakia. It was a royal frontier fort built c. 1256-1273. In the 16th century it was reconstructed into a Renaissance fort. Imperial troops damaged the castle in 1707 and it gradually fell to ruin.
