Every second of my day I am allowed to, I listen to music.
My home is never, ever silent.
Which is why having my Sonos system makes my life that much more awesome!
Read on to see exactly why…
I've got three Sonos speaker systems in my home, one PLAY:5 and two PLAY:3's. One PLAY:3 is in my kitchen:
A PLAY:5 in my living room:
And the other PLAY:3 in my bedroom:
Now you might be thinking 'What the hell is a Sonos?' Basically, its a wireless multi-room audio system. You can have as many, or as few speakers as you want. All you do plug them into the mains and they connect together to create a proprietary wireless network thats optimised for streaming high quality audio.
You need to connect one of the units to your router with an ethernet cable (or use the BRIDGE, which I do) and you can access your iTunes library or any folder with music in it, on your computer or a NAS. It also connects the whole system to the internet so you can stream free radio, connect to Spotify and loads of other services!
Once you're all setup, you can either control the system with a dedicated controller (now discontinued) or the cheaper and more popular option, using your iOS device, android phone or your PC or Mac.
You can either play different music, from a mixture of sources in each room, or group rooms together and the music will play in perfect sync. Any combination of anything you can think of is possible.
The all in one systems Sonos make sound just brilliant! Easily filling my rooms with sound, I don't think i've ever turned them up more then 75% volume (i'm sure my neighbours are glad I don't)
They also make a couple of units you can connect to your existing equipment, either an amp or just some speakers.
Having the system has just made it so easy to keep my days constantly filled with music, and have it follow me round the house easily, and sound great too without stuttering or being out of sync.
The only thing I want to do eventually is get some waterproof speakers fitted in my bathrooms and connect them up. Then the entire house will be ready to rock!
