I would go on a rant for all the details and metaphors here but I’ll save that for tomorrow

Alright, as I promised. Here’s the rant \/\/\/

The first scene: player looks down, seeing the negatives of the whole situation. Refusing to look at Kyoko in the eye. Shadows take up more then 50% of the body to represent how player thinks that they are a bad person despite doing what’s best for the world. The obvious is that the “Maybe in a different universe” changes to “maybe in another circumstance”, showing that despite pushing Kyoko away, player does still care about her and wishes that they weren’t doomed from the start. The text box gets blurry, meaning that their words don’t matter in the end. It won’t change their fate.

The second scene: despite the light being right next to her, Kyoko still chooses to look at player. Even if it means to face the darkness. Her smile is not artificial for she’s not grieving over how this wouldn’t last, she’s just happy to know that player truly cares for her.

The second 1/2 scene: “we could’ve lived happily. Together.” It’s pixelated at first, not holding much meaning. Once it’s more clear, the word “Together” is stretched. Symbolizing how far fetched the whole idea is. They were never mentioned to be.

The third scene: idfk. I messed up writing “drive” instead of “park”.

The forth scene: the “sword” represents the violence and guilt that player holds. “Sword” also means players walls that protect their wellbeing, “drop that sword” = “open up/talk to me”. The word is pixelated to show that it’s out of place in this relationship.

The final scene: whenever I add a scene where it’s a black background with white outline sprites, it typically means a dreamworld/dream sequence or the past/future. In the first half, the ink splatter is representing the cracks that stains between their relationship. The stain is between the both of them to distance each other, showing how their problems separate them even further (or at least, players). At the second half of which the screen turns, it’s black and white. The future that they’re doomed to live through. Kyoko switches spots with player and an empty spot lays where kyoko was, meaning player is no longer with them and now she’s the one that has to hold onto the grief and guilt. If you didn’t notice, she actually wears Player’s scarf in the end.

Headcanon on how player is able to use the ghost walker. Player has to “rip out their lower rib”. Yeah

Well, not literally. Although, their grip has to be digging into their skin and deep. They pull out the ghost walker instead of their rib as if their torso was the scabbard for it. Reason why? Well, kinda inspired by Persona (at least, my understanding of the story) and how the protagonists must use a gun (not an actual one. But an evoker) and use it against themselves to activate their truest potential in the very general sense.

The ghost walker makes you prove you’re pure, and you aren’t fully pure if you’re mortal. (Literally ghostwalker’s ability) so you have to bite the bullet and just do it.

I’m gonna have to update my ghost walker design to look like a rib
