“ Adventure is out there ! “ ...and it is also everywhere. In the increasing urban setting, play is limited to designated open spaces such as parks, fields and private yards. Children are expected elsewhere to squelch their curiosity. But of course, adventure is not only restricted to such places. In spaces in between everyday actives, there is adventure and purpose behind every corner, street and step we take. In between mimics this idea: where people are often unaware of the adventures they undergo. The façade of the building is comprised of mirror planes that reflect their environment, blending into the streets, parks, and spaces where the playhouse sits. Each plane is placed within close proximity of each other and the slight crack that separates them reveals a hidden component inside. Only upon closer inspection does one realize the spaces inside the mirror box is completely different- filled with openings and traversals that lead the interested throughout the box. The destination? The top of course! Undeniably, getting to the top is not easy: one must brave the intangible nets, climb walls and choose the correct path in order to reach the top.
