Talking to @jo_mc_sen_physio yesterday this really stuck out for me. Play is a fundamental piece to our child’s learning. But so often I hear mums say how can I entertain my kids, how can I stop them saying they are bored? What if we gave them opportunities to play? To discover? To learn freely? What if the reason for the boredom is because they have so many things that that cant see what to play with, they feel overwhelmed with choice. Just like us facing the chore list. There is so much to get done we often freeze with overwhelm and end up doing nothing. Creating a play activity, setting up an area where our kids can create a story, engrose themselves in a fantasy to make sense of their real world is such a great gift. Limiting the choice of toys is also a great way to help kids to make choices. So much value in the conversations we are having in twin triage over the past few weeks. Don’t worry if you have missed any as they are Available in the group on replay. And I’m going to be uploading them to the Wabi-Sabi way of life podcast which is coming soon.
