So I think at this point it’s clear that a vocal portion of the fandom wants Cassius to get himself a boyfriend. And it’s easy to see why: Pierce confirmed a few years ago on Twitter that Cassius is Bisexual, but other than a vague moment in Iron Gold where he invites a male and female Pink to join him in the bathtub for what might have been a threesome, there’s been no textual confirmation that he’s queer like there is with Roque, Tactus, Harmony, Evey, Ephriam, or Dancer.
@darrowsrising @redrisingmememachine and I were talking on Discord, and we’ve narrowed down the top 3 candidates for a potential future boyfriend for Cassius going into Book VI:
Apollonius au Valii-Rath:
Ship Name: Capple
Pros:
The DramaTM
Apple will never go for anyone who isn’t as Extra as he is.
Cons:
No indication they’ve ever met before.
Currently on opposite sides.
Colloway xe Char:
Ship Name: Calloway
Pros:
The combined sexiness/hotness/prettiness would be off the charts.
If he’s on the Archimedes with the others he and Cassius have plenty of time to get to know each other.
Cons:
No indication they’ve ever met before.
Unclear if Colloway made it off Mercury with Darrow, Cassius and the others.
Horatius “Screwface” au Savag:
Ship Name: Screwssius
Pros:
They have history despite not interacting that much.
The dork points from Cassius coining his future BF’s nickname
Potential bonding over mutual appreciation of Darrow.
Assuming Screwface survives his injuries, they have plenty of time to grow closer on the flight back to Mars.
Cons:
Whether Screwface will the injuries he sustained when Mercury fell is uncertain.
