Okay, so more serious post this time around (and probably gonna be my most controversial, but it needs to be said).
I know that I posted this in my TikTok, and these talking points are a beaten as a dead horse (especially on YouTube), but I felt that it would be more beneficial to say it here. Considering the massive, Ai-fueled, privacy-breaching, BS update that YouTube will be rolling out on the 13th, I just wanna say this:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BOYCOTT YOUTUBE OR AT THE VERY LEAST, REDUCE YOUR SCREENTIME ON THE PLATFORM STARTING THE 13TH!!!!!
As nice as YouTube is for leisurely purposes or for useful guides to things, the site's new policies are going to be harmful to everybody.
It's not and never was about "protecting the children," it's more so about control and surveillance. If people actually cared about the kids online, them they would actually teach kids actually helpful internet safety and/or restrict their internet access (aka, actually parent their kids and monitor the content that their kids watch).
Basically, fuck big corporations, this kind of bullshit censorship, and most of all, fuck the government
