how am i not famous yet?
it seems that there are quite a few of us who are SERIOUSLY wondering this every time we sing along to the radio or when we have an intimate concert in our rooms while we get ready for our days. but for real. all it will really take is a couple voice lessons, right? i mean i'm preeetttyy sure i've subconsciously dated boys that play instruments / or are really into music because deep down i've wanted them to ask me to start a band with them. i took voice lessons as a kid and i recently went back to watch a video of one of my recitals to see if I was actually any good.... right before i started my first note of 'on my own' [original, i know], the recital turned into some dumb show that my dad recorded. thanks dad! now i'll never know if i was ever good enough to make it!!! i remember the first time i went to nyc, i was in the 5th grade and was SURE i was going to be discovered just by walking through the city. i thought the exact same thing when i moved to chelsea when i was 24. i was ready, too! SO ready to be famous. don't worry. i haven't given up all hope!! on another note [see what i did there?] anyone interested in starting a real band, let me know. I played piano for 7 years, so i'm really good at reading music-- not so much at playing :/
