What happened?

so like. mainly im mad about d///ear e / van h/ansen winning best original score just cuz. it’s so boring? the entire plot is so white cishet, and nerotypicals wanking off to the idea of (poorly presented) acute social anxiety..also there’s only a few songs on the soundtrack i even slightly enjoy..a lot of my resentment towards it mainly tho is the fact that it’s been so hyped up despite just. not being that fantastic?and a lot of rly great musicals were overlooked in favor of it? falsettos has a great soundtrack and has gay characters. natasha, pierre, & the great comet also has a great soundtrack and a diverse castand don’t get me wrong on this.. hami/ton is v v v gross and problematic with romanticizing Bad People, but at least it actually had a diverse cast and got attention for it.it’s just rly frustrating that in 2017, people consider DEH a peak performance..i just figure that in a field so vastly populated with minorities (particularly the LGBT community), you’d expect more musicals to actually tell our stories and get recognition for it but i guess not.SORRY THIS GOT LONGER THAN I INTENDED IT TO
