Thanks Nero!! :) Let's go with Pliarr--I talked about his sister the other day but not him, so it's his turn now :D

21. What common etiquette do they disagree with? Do they still follow it?

Pliarr doesn't care for titles very much, mainly because he grew up around a decent amount of people who enjoyed flaunting their titles around for the ego boost more than anything else. He immensely prefers to use people's names, but he'll use titles when it's required to be polite/undercover/respectful.

25. What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot?

Pliarr absolutely can analyze the hell out of any musical track--he has a very good ear. He hasn't dedicated time to learning any instrument himself at this point, but he does know musical theory.

36. Who do they keep in their life for professional gain? Is it for malicious intent?

Pliarr has multiple contacts from different places and different Orders who he's in touch with mainly for information (and thus professional gain). A more personal example: he stays in touch with the asura professor Yaz, who helped raise him and Cio, though the situation was complicated. That's more for professional gain than for any personal relationship; Yaz used to be part of the Order of Whispers and is a valuable contact themself. It's also a little malicious, though not on any sort of grand scale. Yaz would like them to have a closer relationship, and Pliarr, by staying in touch, is kind of encouraging that thought process while also not wanting that himself.

I’m gonna go for Cio because I believe that she and Bertie would bond immediately and cause all kinds of shenanigans. (No doubt causing Pliarr all kinds of stress, poor lad.) Bertie and his older brother, Bronn, had a similar situation to Cio and Pliarr growing up so I imagine the two of them would bond over a shared family dynamic and being the younger, weirder sibling. Also I saw you mention in her tag that she might become a scrapper and Bertie would love to pass some of his own scrapper knowledge on. If Cio wanted, he’d be more than happy to share gyro blueprints and talk about some of the tweaks Tybalt helped him make. Bertie would also be super chill about her magic. He never developed the knack for magic casting so he wouldn’t really get that her magic comes from a different place others might see as scary. He’d just be like “oh that’s neat” and move on.

He is indeed!! (And tyty!! :D <3 )

Well, first of all, Phoenix is very different from Cio but also is enough like Cio that she is definitely at risk of being adopted as Pliarr's little sister alskjdfsd. Second, I think he'd like her, but they also have very different personalities and it would be Very obvious. Like, I'm picturing that "someone will die" "Of Fun! :D" thing (except that Pliarr's not that aggressive lmao). Third, I just was looking through the tags and read the thing about Phoenix's asshole "brother". Pliarr's a mesmer too (though he would never do what Phoenix's "brother" did), specifically chronomancer, and he has a Complicated relationship with his magic even though he's very skilled at it thanks to the unintentional effect it had on his own sister. There's the potential for angst/complex emotions in there, I think.

(*sings* I am late to this ask, oh dear) This got buried in my inbox somehow and I just saw it Now, my apologies, but ty very much for the ask and here you go! :D I'll answer these for Pliarr, who deserves more ask time (and I just want to talk about him today xD) Hagall - Hail - How does your character cope with the unexpected? He finds something to do that can, in theory, help deal with whatever it is. It might not actually help all that much, but if it feels productive and distracts him until he can think through whatever it is, he'll take it. Yr - Yew - How does your character celebrate? Pliarr's not a big fan of huge parties or gatherings, so often it's something on his own or with just a few of his friends. The one exception would probably be if people in the OoW headquarters felt like holding a huge party there for some reason--prior to mid-1325, that was the one place he felt absolutely safe. Sigel - Sun - How does your character relax? Kind of the same way he celebrates, except for the fact that he usually needs to be entirely alone in order to relax. As for things he finds relaxing, an incomplete list would be listening to music (almost any kind, he's really not picky), taking a shower (specifically Not a bath), and messing around with his magic. Eoh - Horse - Is your character good at expressing their emotions? This one I think I already answered for Pliarr, so have one for Cody, who I also have barely talked about xD: She's never really been in a place, either personally or for work, where she's needed to hide them. As such, she's Very open by default and doesn't often lie. People tend to assume she's naive because of this, though, which...isn't quite accurate.

Wynn - Joy - What makes your character happiest?

Pliarr has lots of things that make him happy, but happiest? Hmm...seeing his sister happy goes on here forever and always, but he also very much enjoys making people laugh. Whether it's bad puns, goofy illusions, or various well-crafted jokes, making people laugh--or even smile, just people being happy because of something he did--makes him happy.

Yr - Yew - How does your character celebrate?

Depends what he's celebrating, probably, but it's most likely either with the best food/drink he can get for halfway decent prices or by dancing (badly, but he doesn't care) to something bouncy.

Eolh - Protection - What does your character need? Do they deserve it?

Pliarr...ooh boy. He needs to learn and accept that he has value even if he's not actively making people laugh or not being a vital part of the Order of Whispers as one of its most skilled mesmers or not always on top of writing letters to his sister. He needs to know that he has value just because of being him. And yes, he does deserve it.

(And yes, he and Kerra should have Several conversations, because she could relate in some ways for sure.)

Eoh - Horse - Is your character good at expressing their emotions? 

Yes and no. Most of the time whatever he’s expressing is fairly honest, but he’ll hide the extent of his more negative emotions from most people and in most situations.
