PLL TIMELINE AND ITS FAULTS - UPDATED ? ?
A WHILE AGO I DID A POST ON MY TAKE ON THE PLL TIMELINE. I HAVE DECIDED TO REVAMP AND ADD TO IT SO HERE GOES:
Before Sept 2009 = Pre season 1. This covers the Marion and Cece stuff and Noels Halloween party in 2008. This is shown in flashbacks and the first secret. This would be prior to and including the liars freshman year of high school.
Sept 2009 - Sept 2010 = Pre season 1. This is when Ali goes missing. Aria goes to Iceland, Hanna looses weight. This is explained in the pilot. It would be the liars sophomore year of high school.
Sept 2010 - Nov 2010 = Season 1. This is when Aria returns from Iceland, a body is found under the gazebo and A starts tormenting the liars. This is the first half of the liars junior year of high school.
Nov 2010 - March 2011 = Season 2. This is still in the same school year as S1 - the liars junior year. We find out Mona is A and she goes into Radley.
Sept 2011 – November ish 2011 = Season 3. This is when Alison’s grave is dug up. she has been missing for 2 years. The Emily/Nate/Lyndon thing happens and we also start all that redcoat stuff. This is the start of the liars senior year. The last known date we have for season 3 is the Halloween episode “This is a dark ride” so October and just after.
October 2011 - Nov 2011 = Season 4. Still just into the liars senior year. This covers more redcoat stuff, Tippy, Ravenswood, Ezra’s reveal, Spencers pill addiction, Ezra Getting shot, Shana dying and Alison revealing all.
November 2011 to December 2011 = Season 5A. still just into the liars senior year. This covers Alison’s return home and the Bethany Young stuff. We have Thanksgiving and the Christmas episode to take us up to the end of 5A.
March 2012 - ? = Season 5B. This is into the second half of the liars senior year. It starts 3 months after Mona’s murder.

NOW HERE ARE SOME PLOT HOLES I HAVE FOUND:
In 4x21 in Ezra’s Journal it says Aria spent 3 years in Iceland and also. the girls regrouped after a few years. (not just 1 year)
Aria found out about Byron’s affair in October 2008 (In the first secret which was Noels Halloween party 2008) A sends Ella a message in Sept 2010 saying Aria knew about if for a year but it would have actually been 2 years. Aria even says to Ella that she had known for a year.
What is the real date of Alison’s disappearance. Sept 1 like Toby’s tattoo or Sept 6/7 2009 when labour day was in 2009
Also Tom and Isabell’s wedding save the date seen in October 2010 in episode 2x8 said the wedding was Nov 2011 (ashley even said “your getting married in 6 weeks”) They wed in over my dead body 2x12 only 4 episodes later. I guess that could’ve been a typo.
In October 2010 Ashley makes the comment that Hanna hat previously gotten up at 3 in the morning to watch the royal wedding - which did not happen until April 2011.
Ashley and Wilden did something in October 2008 after he drove her home when she had too much to drink (They were recorded on the NAT videos which got hidden by Alison in late 2009) But in the Sept 2010 Ashley tells Hanna that Ella didn’t know about her divorce. So either Ashley was seeing Wilden before her divorce or she kept her divorce a secret for longer.
Hanna talks to Ashley in the first secret about Tom leaving them - Hanna tells Ashley that Tom’s new lover is ugly with fat legs. But then Hanna does not meet Isabel and Kate until late 2010 (s1 after she crashes Sean’s car)
Ashley got the job at the bank in ”the first secret” set in Oct 2008 and Mrs potter made her annual appearance at the bank in Oct 2010. It is implied that Ashley sees her every year, but she would only have seen her 2 maximum 3 times. Then her grave says she died in 2011. I guess this could be a typo too!!
Toby graduated from police academy in less than 1 month!!
The movie “frozen” was referenced. It came out in 2013 but it was only 2011 in PLL time (thanks to cccashmoney for pointing this out)
In 5x20 Hanna & Emily dance to “Bang Bang” the song was released in 2014 but it was only 2012 in PLL time.
