This intricate nest was created by a village weaver (Ploceus Cacullatus). The exact date of their introduction to the island is unknown but it is thought to have arrived with ships of the slave trade from West Africa. During breeding, males perform a spread-wing, flapping display at the best, often hanging upside down. It’s pretty awesome to watch a tree filled with flapping yellow “fruits”. #growninhaiti #villageweaver #ploceuscucullatus #birdwatching #naturephotography #nest #weave #haiti #ayiti #biodiversity #birdsofhaiti #nature
