Stiles earns an unfortunate nickname in college. Stood up Stilinski. This is because his dates never last past the first one. He just can't seem to makes the girls, or guys, look at him twice. To make matters worse nearly everyone he knows is in a relationship, hell he even set some of them up! Ever since Derek left Beacon Hills, Stiles' feelings for the werewolf had grown. But he hasn't seen or heard from Derek since he left. And Stiles' problem of not being able to get a proper date isn't helping him get over the man. Finally managing to land a date with a girl from one of his classes, he takes her to a nice little restaurant within walking distance of the college dorms. It's his first date in a while, so he's a little nervous. He's pretty sure their waiter was not so subtly checking out his date as they were seated by the large windows. He starts nervously babbling to keep her attention. It's already going down hill so he excuses himself to the restroom to calm himself down. When he comes back out he sees the waiter flirting with his date /again/. By the time he gets to the table the waiter has fled and his date is acting like nothing had happened at all. Stiles can play that game too. He can salvage this. He can. They have their dinner with some stilted conversation, and Stiles trying to ignore the glances between his date and waiter. They've just finished dessert when his date excuses herself to the restroom, and Stiles would have to be blind and stupid not to notice their waiter following only moments after. His date doesn't return, and neither does his waiter. This is the last straw for Stiles, it leaves him devastated. He sits in the restaurant until only the staff left, drunk off his ass and wallowing in his own misery. And it just so happens a certain brooding werewolf is passing by on his way back to Beacon Hills. Derek sees Stiles sitting all alone through the restaurant window, and he can't just keep going. Not when Stiles looks so dull and lifeless. Nothing like the energetic and headstrong teen he left behind. Derek pulls over and enters the restaurant, sitting down across from Stiles. Stiles thinks Derek is a product of his alcohol addled brain. Derek, after some struggle, manages to get Stiles back to his dorm room. And Stiles is impersonating an octopus by this point, clinging to Derek and crying his eyes out. Derek settles Stiles into bed, climbing in after him, letting Stiles cry into his shoulder, trying to comfort him as he keeps whispering, "what's wrong with me? What's wrong with me?" over and over. When Stiles wakes up in the morning, he's alone in bed, and figured everything with Derek had been a dream. But when he steps out of his bedroom, there's Derek, cooking breakfast in his kitchen. Stiles is stunned for a moment before he rushes forward to hug Derek, who gladly hugs back. After breakfast they talk about last night and Stiles sadly admits to his non existent love life and accidentally lets slip his crush on Derek. It's Derek's turn to he stunned and Stiles is freaking out, thinking he just ruined everything. But then Derek surges forward and kisses Stiles and it's just as great as Stiles always imagined it would be. Derek tells Stiles that he was coming back for him, now that he'd gotten himself together. Stiles is elated, he can't stop smiling, even when he smashes his lips against Derek's again. Cue couch cuddles and kisses!
