PLOT DROP #003
This morning, while making the rounds, Captain Duport found Nikolai, the microbiologist, dead on the floor of his lab. She had not seen him in the dormitory before the established night cycle began, so he must have stayed in his lab overnight. He was on the ground, having fallen from his chair only a foot away from his desk. On his desk was a microscope with a slide in it and a notepad with bullet points. As far as Anna can tell the note says:
Virus.
Extremely fast replicating DNA
Similar to Hantavirus
First sign of life not introduced by mission
Effect on humans?
Deadly?
It seems his suspicions were correct, because after Anna relayed what she could see Anthony confirmed that he died of edema and kidney failure. So far, the team doesn’t know what sort of contact is required to transfer the disease. But Anna has considered herself on quarantine, and anyone else who was in lab #3 last night has been taken in for inspection by Anthony.
