okay so a couple plot ideas??
someone who works on the hogwarts paper with her. could be drawing a comic in it or reporting or an astrology column or anything? but rita’s a little obsessed with the paper so she’d nag them about it a lot
a close friend. rita isn’t the kind of person that would have a best friend, as none of her friends completely trust her, but the person that’s closest to her, so they’d hang out a lot. probably would call her out on her shit but still put up with her and like her.
a fake crush. she has it in her mind that she needs to pretend to like a guy so that she can date one, because that’s what girls do, right? someone who she’d be all over at times and be really nice to, but if they ever reciprocated she’d be like shit and not know how to react
an actual crush. a girl that she gets really flustered around blatently or acts mean towards for no reason, whichever you’d prefer, because she has a thing for them but doesn’t let herself recognise it. either way involves a lot of denial and could be fun to play. doesn’t need to be returned at all, or realised by the person
someone who’s secret she knows, and is blackmailing them. could be any kind of secret, but she asks for favours from them in return for not blabbing, which she is famous for
someone who snitches to her. someone who’s bitchy and the two of them catch up every now and then to gossip. if they want, she writes something cruel about the people they don’t like, in the school paper.
divination partners. rita HATES the subject with a burning passion, but might as well get a n.e.w.t out of it now she’s been studying it for years. the two treat the lessons as a joke, and mess around together during lessons, making up the most ridiculous prophecies or dreams or interpretations that they can think of as a running joke
