The Order of the Phoenix, recruit. Living with the love of his life, hopeful and passionate and ready to fight.
Mossdown Secondhand Books, clerk. Adores the job, happily volunteers for closing shifts - he gets the shop to himself for at least a few hours every night, rearranging books and pricing out the ones that arrived earlier in the day. Until there are one too many sick days taken, until the owner of the shop - a lovely woman named Mabel Mossdown - starts to piece together the pattern and gently, sadly, tells him she has to let him go.
The Order of the Phoenix, cont. Undercover work. Tracking down intelligence about and the location of various rumored werewolf packs across the United Kingdom. Joining the packs, however briefly, to try and gather as much information as he can; to try and sway them against joining Voldemort, attempting to draw them away from Fenrir Greyback’s growing influence.
He stays hidden for too long stretches of time; coming home starts to feel like betrayal.Until October 31st, 1981.
The Lost Years. 12 years, alone, bridges burned and ties severed with nothing but the wand and the clothes magically stitched together on his back; brief visits to his father interrupting the wandering he does every other month of the year.
Then, he’s offered a teaching position at Hogwarts.

Happy weekend - wait what do weekends mean anymore what day is it even are we sure it’s Friday - gang!
We’re bringing back Plot Prompt Friday on kind of a trial run basis - we don’t want these prompts to feel like homework, so we’re going to stick with more simple ones unless we get a big good fun idea. We’ll still give everyone plenty of time to do them even while we’re all (mostly) in quarantine, so don’t feel like we’re watching you under a microscope just since we technically have more “free time” these days.
In fact, this is as good a time as any to reiterate: take your time for your mental health during this crisis. WIL is here - and has stayed here for as long as it has - because we all like to take our time, plot deeply, and don’t like feeling rushed to rattle off quick replies. That hasn’t changed just since a lot of us are finding ourselves home more often. Writing here shouldn’t be a chore, or homework, or stressful in any way; we still expect communication from everyone if activity rules aren’t being met, but we’re going to be as lenient and patient as we’ve always been. We’re all stressed and tired and scared, but remember everyone here is a family of writers who share a love for the characters and stories we’ve created. Don’t push yourself to be Productive(TM); take it easy. We’re all going through a lot of scary stuff right now, so never hesitate to reach out to us if you need someone to talk to.
So, for this PPF! We’d like you to consider the future of your character/s. NEWTs are literally right around the corner, as is the Parents’ Weekend event we’ll be posting in a few days, graduation, initiation into the Order/Death Eaters... a lot is happening! For characters who aren’t in school at the moment, how are they feeling about the future? We’ve had some job shakeups on the dash, unrest around Diagon Alley, all sorts of drama to be picked into.
Want to talk about your character’s NEWT scores, how they’re handling the stress, what their plans are for the second their final exam is done? Write about it! Already thinking ahead to what’s coming right after graduation? Do you know your character is being drafted into the war and want to touch on how they might react to the offer? Go for it! We’re keeping this one loose and open so you can lock onto the thing that motivates your muse the most.
It can be a self-para, a short headcanon post, a moodboard, an aesthetic, a playlist - go wild! The “due date” for these will be Friday, April 17th!
For bonus points* please send in asks to the main requesting any characters you want to see on the dash! These can be primary characters or even secondary characters that you want your fellow WILers to pick up for a bit.
(*there are no bonus points, or points at all, but we’d love to get these anyway)

Breaking news from the Warrington household: they will be adding yet another little addition to the family. Recently realizing she was pregnant again, Marya will soon enough give birth to her and Tyler’s second son, Cassius. While Nathanial is a name that has a long history in the Greengrass clan, the name Cassius has no connection to her family. Rather, it was one she saw in passing in a book that tickled her, and that was what she liked about it.
The family of four enjoy a few happy years together. Once Nathanial gets over not having all of the attention anymore he comes into his own in the role of big brother, and Marya is not above using the baby as an excuse for Tyler to be home more. In the blissful moments of peace and perfection tucked away in their house, it’s easy to forget how the world is crashing down outside of it. In fact, it’s all too easy to imagine where the family could be heading next, perhaps with another addition of a little girl.
Further in the Future: Nothing lasts forever, though, and Marya’s ideas about the wonderful family she could build is shattered when Tyler gets arrested. For all the anxious nights she spent wondering what she would do if anything ever happened to him, she had never come up with an answer. Faced with the reality of it, though, all she can do is keep it together for her children. Careful not to make any public statements that could hurt their standing in wizarding society, she still remains devoted and loyal to Tyler through it all.

MB Type: ENTJ
Enneagram: Type 3, The Achiever
Moral Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Archetype: Royal
Temperament: Choleric-Melancholic blend
Full Legal Name: Antonin Chigaru Dolohov
Nickname(s): Ant to those lucky few. “Tony”, unwanted and frowned upon (and possibly punched out of) from Sirius Black.
Age: 19
Gender & Pronouns: Cis male, he/him
Sexuality: Antonin is a ladies’ man, through and through, with a penchant for getting featured in the gossip section of the Daily Prophet whenever he has a brand new socialite on his arm for any given event. His proclivity leans towards women in general, but he would never turn down the company of a handsome wizard if the mood strikes him - he doesn’t bother with labels since he, like all pureblood men of a certain status, knows that his duty is to get married and produce an heir or two. Everything else can stay confidential and fun once the ring is on his finger; especially since he’ll end up marrying someone who gets it just as well as he does.
Date of Birth: 17 April, 1959
Horoscope: Aries.
Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Nationality: British, with a Czechoslovakian father and Egyptian mother.
Occupation: Antonin is a member of junior management in the Department of International Magical Cooperation at the British Ministry of Magic. He shines the most when allowed to participate in diplomatic projects, often functioning as an attaché when members of foreign Ministries are visiting London.
Oh, and he’s a Death Eater. His father is a member of Voldemort’s innermost circle, and Antonin’s not too far from the big boys’ club himself.
Summarized in One Word: Disguised.
APPEARANCE ➤
Faceclaim: Rami Malek
Height: 5′8″
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Green
Noticeable Features: Large eyes, a sharp sharp jawline, immaculately kept hair.
Typical Outfit or General Fashion Sense: Tailored suits and cloaks, rich dark colors, anything that fits him well and makes him look like a million galleons. Perfectly rolled up sleeves when he wants to ‘let loose’, the finest clothes Dolohov and Shafiq money can buy.
HISTORY ➤
Hometown (and, if they’re a graduate or soon to be a graduate, where they live now or will be living soon): Antonin has lived in Surrey his whole life - that’s where the Dolohov manor is located in England, and it’s his birthright home. He still lives there but also keeps a handsome bachelor pad in London, closer to work - and closer to the nightlife, just in case he’s up to anything that he might not want to travel all the way home for.
Financial Status: Oh, wealthy. Wealthy as fuck. Doesn’t technically have to work could travel the world a hundred times over and still live comfortably type of wealthy.
Spoken Languages: English, Czech, Slovak, Arabic, a fair bit of Russian due to family
Dream Job: Minister of Magic, baby!
Bad Habits: Murder is probably a decently bad habit of his that he’s gotten into recently! He has his fair share of less unforgivable vices as well; he likes a drink after work, he likes the company of a beautiful woman almost every night, and he’s been known to enjoy a cigar or two on particularly nice evenings. Murder is probably the worst one, though!
FAMILY BACKGROUND ➤
Mother: Amirah Shafiq, world-renowned duelist and middle daughter of the Sacred 28 Shafiqs, elegant no-fucking-nonsense matriarchal queen.
Father: Patrik Dolohov, youngest son of the powerful Czechoslovakian dynasty family, member of Lord Voldemort’s innermost circle and all around charming motherfucker.
Sibling(s): Anastazie Dolohov, younger, whom Antonin would do just about anything to protect and see happy.
Pet(s): N/A
Grandparent(s): Ignác Dolohov, once a member of Grindelwald’s close court who was able to quickly detach himself from the disgraced dark wizard’s name after his downfall - at great cost to the Dolohov family, but well worth it in the end as their dynasty flourished.
Nefisa Shafiq, ancient - but spry - matriarch of the Shafiq family; she currently resides in Alexandria, Egypt; the ancestral home of the Shafiqs. A powerful woman who spent some time on the Wizengamot before ceding her chair to one of her nieces, a trusted adviser to many other Sacred 28 family heads despite her permanent relocation out of England decades before.
Cousin(s): Daniyah Burke is a distant cousin on the Dolohov side, and Antonin has more cousins of the closer sort than he could probably count: both his parents have a handful of siblings, all with children of varying ages, and that’s not even getting into the second and third cousins.
MAGICAL ABILITIES ➤
Wand: Hornbeam, dragon heartstring, 12 inches, slightly yielding.
Patronus (and which memory they’re currently using to cast a patronus if they can, or which one they’d use if they could): Antonin, thanks to canonical reasons, cannot produce a patronus. If he could, it would take the form of a jackal. If he had to access a happy memory to produce one, he knows exactly which memory he’d choose: the first time he ever displayed any form of magic, at the terrifyingly late age of seven years old. He remembers that day clearer than just about anything - a frustrating violin lesson leading to a magical surge of angry energy shattering a nearby window, his mother’s unbelievable excitement and joy as she scooped him up and hugged him close, calling for his father and younger sister to come and see.
Boggart: When confronted with a boggart the creature would take the shape of Antonin himself – just without any facial features. No eyes, no mouth, no nose, just a blank space. Completely unremarkable, lost in its own nothingness, but clearly Antonin.
OWLS: Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Astronomy, Arithmancy
NEWTS: Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Arithmancy
What Kind of Magic do They Excel at: Charms & Potions; excelling at potions tends to run in the Dolohov genes, as the family acquired their wealth and status by owning apothecaries and other potions-related endeavors.
PSYCHOLOGY ➤
MB Type: The Executive
Enneagram: ESTJ
Moral Alignment: Lawful Evil
Archetype:
Full Legal Name: Mary Aileene Macdonald
Nickname(s): Mare (most of her friends when two syllables is just too much), Shortie (her dad and her sister, despite the fact that the two girls are the same height), Mac (her Quidditch teammates)
Age: 18
Gender & Pronouns: cisgender female, she/her
Sexuality: Straight and easily distracted by cute, tall boys. As much as she might like kissing them, though, she’s afraid she will never be good at being in a relationship. Once she gets close enough with someone to feel something for them, she gets too afraid that dating them will mean losing them one day. And she can’t stand to think about losing the ones that matter to her.
Date of Birth: September 30, 1960
Horoscope: Libra
Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Nationality: Scottish, as is clear by her very thick accent that she makes no effort to reign in
Occupation: After graduation, Mary will further delay making a decision about her future. Through the war, she will be a bartender at a somewhat seedy but usually lively pub. After the dust settles, though, she will get her dream job at a magical animal sanctuary.
Summarized in One Word: Survivor
APPEARANCE ➤
Faceclaim: Kat Graham
Height: 5′1″
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Noticeable Features: An infectious smile and a room filling laugh. A tattoo she got over the summer of the Loch Ness Monster on her hip.
Typical Outfit or General Fashion Sense: high-waisted jeans and crops tops, an abundance of band t-shirts even for ones she’s never seen, party dresses with short flippy skirts and bright designs, the obligatory school uniform that she pushes as close to an infraction as she can
HISTORY ➤
Hometown: Mary is from Portree, Scotland, the largest town on the Isle of Skye, surrounded by hills and overlooking a bay. She loves it with all of her heart, and sometimes imagines that returning home would be some kind of magic fix to many of her problems. After graduation, though, a rational part of her knows that’s not true and doesn’t want to risk bringing her troubles back to her idyllic home. She settles down in a small flat in London instead.
Financial Status: middle class
Spoken Languages: Only English fluently, but she also has learned bits and pieces of Scottish Gaelic and Hebrew from her parents.
Bad Habits: She has trouble reigning in her cursing, and often feels bad for letting out a storm or curses in front of the new first years. She tends to doodle on all of her notes when she’s bored in class, though she’s been trying to be better at that in light of her attempts to actually pass NEWTs. She gets over excited and talks with her hands a lot, which normally is fine but has been known to knock over cups of alcohol that have been set too close to her.
FAMILY BACKGROUND ➤
Mother: Katherine, an English teacher and loving mother who does her best to keep the calm in a somewhat wild household
Father: Niall, a fisherman who gave Mary his boisterous laugh and his love of music
Sibling(s): Lydia, her older sister who is a free spirit traipsing the globe, and Alfie, her younger brother, who she would do anything to protect
Pet(s): an orange tabby cat name Nutmeg
Grandparent(s): Her paternal grandparents both died when she was younger, but her maternal grandparents live in a small town in the Highlands. They don’t see them much outside of holidays, but Katherine and her mother seem to talk on the phone every day.
Cousin(s): A few cousins on both sides of the family. Katherine and Niall were both the oldest siblings, so the Macdonald children are the oldest of the bunch.
MAGICAL ABILITIES ➤
Wand: Black Walnut with Unicorn hair, 9 3/4 in, springy
Patronus: Mary has yet to be able to cast a corporal Patronus, but when she is able to it will take the form of a Husky. To cast it, she thinks of a warm summer night her and her fellow Gryffindor friends spent at the beach. She can’t remember a single thing they talked about, but she remembers the laughter that rang out between them and how comfortable it felt when they were all cuddled up around the fire, and that is enough.
Boggart: Mary’s boggart still takes the form of Mulciber. Not because he is what she fears most, but he is a good representation of it. The lose of control she felt the night of the attack, the feeling of being unwanted in a world she thought she could call hers, the fear that something worse could always be waiting around the next corner.
OWLS: Mary had taken the OWLs for Astronomy, Charms, DADA, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and Transfiguration. She got a few Es, and a couple As that left her talking her way into the class for her sixth year. The only one she failed was Potions.
What Kind of Magic do They Excel at: Mary is best as practical, instinctual magic. She’s always done well in DADA because she can think on her feet and trust her cut in fast paced situations. More complex, theoretical magic, like Transfiguration, was always harder for her to grasp.
PSYCHOLOGY ➤
MB Type: Entertainer - ESFP-T
Entertainers love the spotlight, and all the world’s a stage. Utterly social, Entertainers enjoy the simplest things, and there’s no greater joy for them than just having fun with a good group of friends. Though it may not always seem like it, Entertainers know that it’s not all about them – they are observant, and very sensitive to others’ emotions. People with this personality type are often the first to help someone talk out a challenging problem, happily providing emotional support and practical advice. However, if the problem is about them, Entertainers are more likely to avoid a conflict altogether than to address it head-on. Entertainers are welcome wherever there’s a need for laughter, playfulness, and a volunteer to try something new and fun – and there’s no greater joy for Entertainer personalities than to bring everyone else along for the ride.
Enneagram:
Type 2 - 64% Match
Type 2 can be described as The Giver. Twos want to be liked and find ways that they can be helpful to others so that they can belong.
Type 9 - 61% Match
Type 9 is also called The Peacemaker. Nines like to keep a low profile and let the people around them set the agenda.
Type 7 - 54% Match
Type 7 is described as The Enthusiast. Sevens want to have as much fun and adventure as possible and are easily bored.
Moral Alignment: Chaotic Good
A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit. However, chaotic good can be a dangerous alignment when it disrupts the order of society and punishes those who do well for themselves.
Archetype:
53% Caregiver
Friendly, sincere, and compassionate, the Caregiver finds their reward in helping others. No one could ask for a better best friend.
29% Explorer
The Explorer is drawn to the unknown, whether that’s a Himalayan peak or the road not taken, and have a thirst for adventure. They take journeys, not vacations.
18% Athlete
The Athlete's focus and drive are unparalleled. Staying healthy and being fit are paramount to them (as for winning, that doesn't hurt, either).
Temperament: Sanguine
Sanguine people are boisterous, bubbly, chatty, openly emotional, social extroverts. In our distant past, the sanguine members of the pack might have played a supportive, encouraging, social role. They would have been the glue that kept the group together. In modern society, you might see them as entertainers, singers, dancers, or perhaps simply as the energetic people at parties.
Full Legal Name: Daniyah Agata Burke
Nickname(s): ‘Niyah, by her dad; Dani, by her classmates at Durmstrang; Diya, by her cousin who had trouble pronouncing her name properly when he was younger
Age: 23
Gender & Pronouns: cisgender female, she/her
Sexuality: Bisexual, and very selective of her romantic partners. Like many things in her life, she approaches relationships with practicality, following her head more than she does her heart. If there is someone out there her can make her throw caution to the wind and jump without knowing where she will fall and any other number of clichés, they sure haven’t gotten through to her yet.
Date of Birth: May 2, 1955
Horoscope: Taurus
Nationality: Born British, to a British/Spanish father and a Bulgarian mother
Occupation: Since moving to England, Daniyah has worked a low-level job in the Ministry of Magic Archives. One where she wouldn’t be looked into to much. One where she can be tucked away among the stacks of documents, blending in with all the others working to maintain it. It makes decent enough money, and Daniyah find the access to history interesting enough. But the most important aspect of it is the anonymity. She doesn’t want word getting around too much that she’s back and living in England.
Summarized in One Word: Careful
APPEARANCE ➤
Faceclaim: Emeraude Tobia
Height: 5′5″
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Noticeable Features: Long, thick hair that will fall all over the place before she gets tired enough of it to put it up, a small birthmark above her lip
Typical Outfit or General Fashion Sense: Understated, dark colors and simple lines, is a fan of a muggle leather jacket but not a fan of anything too flashy
HISTORY ➤
Hometown: She grew up in Shaftesbury, England, is currently living in London, but considers Nedelino, Bulgaria, her home.
Financial Status: The middle class of the Pureblood society
Spoken Languages: English, Bulgarian, Spanish
Dream Job: While she doesn’t want to be working for the British Ministry of Magic, she does enjoy working with the archives, piecing together bits of history. In a time after the war, when there isn’t such a need for action and heroics, then she could imagine settling into a quiet life of it.
Bad Habits: Cigarettes, interrupting people when they’re talking, lack of filter
FAMILY BACKGROUND ➤
Mother: Iliyana Dinev, died when Daniyah was a one year old
Father: Alvaro Burke
Sibling(s): none
Pet(s): none
Grandparent(s): Caractacus Burke on her father’s side
Cousin(s): Zavier Burke, who she is very close to; she is distantly related to Antonin and Anastazie Dolohov on her mother’s side, but since all of the Dinevs are gone it’s hard to track the line
MAGICAL ABILITIES ➤
Wand: Ash wood, phoenix feather core, 9 1/4 inches
Patronus: Eagle Owl, which she can cast. To do so, she thinks of the first time she stepped foot in the home her mother grew up in in Bulgaria.
Boggart: Her mother, aged no more than the oldest she ever looked in photographs no matter how much older Daniyah gets, telling her all the reasons she is disappointed in her for the choices she has made
What Kind of Magic do They Excel at: Daniyah’s approach to magic is methodical. She sits comfortably in types that utilize strong form and technique, such as Transfiguration and Arithmancy. She also excels at dueling, but defensive magic more so than offensive, mostly because it seemed the more important of the two to focus on when she was in school.
