This cute  DIY clock has only one hand, and it is used to write out the time on a dry mini erase board.  It writes out by hour and minute, then erases everything to draw out the next time.

"Plotclock is a simple robot that uses a marker to write the time on a small whiteboard. While you could always just check your own watch, Plotclock is much more compelling. The clock writes the time with a dry wipe pen, and when the time changes, the clock erases the previous time and writes the current one.

Created by Johaness the Plotclock is also open source so you can make your own by downloading 3D printing files and instructions here on Thingiverse. And the Arduino sketch can be found here on GitHub."
