I wanted to try a kiss where Aether is taller. Let them smooch!!
Sanctuary

Summary: Aether isn't stupid, but he is anxious. I imagine it’s hard for him to believe that anyone could genuinely love him.

Aaand at long last, it’s a work featuring Alhaitham POV!! Ever since I started this series, with how heavily it’s focused on Aether’s primarily emotional interpretation of things, I’ve been wanting to offer at least a little insight from Alhaitham’s more logical perspective, and I heard from at least one reader that there was some demand for something like this, so HERE IT IS.
Part of this is also a product of my obsession with the epiphany that Alhaitham is a coffee drinker. One of the things I adore about Alhaitham is that he’s presented with such spectacular, unapproachable talent in the Archon Quests at the same time that the character writing team really drives home the point that he’s a really ordinary person with major Just A Dude(tm) energy.
Shoutout to the reader who commented about Alhaitham enabling Aether a lot, because that indeed proceeded to become a staple of their relationship! X’D

Summary: '...until you're suddenly afraid of losing it.' Aether can't stop thinking about Alhaitham, and it takes him some time to understand why.

Throwing you all for a fast one here! As of right now, this standalone work isn’t actually affiliated with
I Sing a Song for You
because I couldn’t decide how or whether I wanted to fit it in. That said, it is still quite fluffy and gay. Enjoy some more of my favorite plotless fluff!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary: Aether had hoped that the end of the Sumeru crisis meant that he could enjoy a more peaceful relationship with Alhaitham; instead, it gives him time to reflect on the things that still haunt him.

To everyone who read this far, whether you are a newbie or a long-time follower, thank you for your support! I know this one was a bit slower than my other works so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people quit halfway through. X'D
I'm going to take this opportunity to write a few additional words of gratitude... I'm absolutely floored by the overwhelmingly positive response to my Alhaitham propaganda (hehe), such that it's hard to believe I wasn't even writing fic just a couple of short years ago. I was an avid fic writer in my adolescence, but I quit for admittedly perfunctory reasons related to people giving feedback that honestly was just straight-up unkind... Anyway, I'd essentially quit for good, until I fell into Genshin Impact in 2021, and returned to fic writing quite abruptly as the most effective method I could find for processing the sheer depth and breadth of emotions I've experienced because of this game. X'D
I'm especially grateful for the positive feedback on Until you're suddenly afraid of losing it as that was certainly one of the more difficult works for me to write (for reasons that are probably reasonably clear to anyone who's familiar with it), but it absolutely did its job as an emotional processing tool. In that sense, I write primarily for myself and don't always have an audience in mind when I'm writing, but it makes me all the more overjoyed that there's anyone out there at all who enjoys my work! (ngl I didn't expect its prequel You never realize something is precious to you to take off at all either) I certainly didn't expect such a response when I jumped back into fic writing and started (rather hesitantly, at first) sharing my work on ao3... but anyway, here I am! I think that's about it haha
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary: Alhaitham was far from the most expressive man in Teyvat, but that wasn’t to say that he didn’t have his own personal ways of showing affection. Aether just had to know what to look for.

I guess I’m starting a new series--aptly named Plotless Alhaither Fluff.

“That sound I heard: the sound of his bone breaking… it was the same sound my carefree soul made as it shattered.” -from Wild Adapter by Kazuya Minekura, translated by Alex Kirsch and adapted by Christine Boylan
I've put out a lot of fluff so far, but now I hope you all are ready for some ANGST!!! :)))) (not without fluff mixed within, though, because I'm hopeless.)
