thankfully, mariana was able to go home for thanksgiving until sunday. it was weird for her to be leaving the facility and she only been there a week and a half, but it felt like a new home to her. she didn’t hate it there, the people she met were real, and that wasn’t something she was often surrounded with. one thing she was looking forward to was seeing matthew again, it’d been five and a half months since their last encounter, when they said goodbye for the final time. they had never been apart longer than a few months, and even then, they always saw each other. so she wasn’t sure how she was gonna feel, especially now that she wasn’t seeing him single. she had moved on, and she was a different person than when they were together, a better one, as was he. she was extremely grateful that he had accepted her ask to take their cat while she was in treatment, not wanting to leave sergio alone for too long, and she was glad that matt would be able to reunite with the pet. after a quick text exchange, they decided mariana should come by to pick up sergio as well as check out his new place and catch up with gracie. the blonde sat outside his new address in her car for a good ten minutes, taking deep breaths to calm her anxiety, something she used to use drugs to do. once mariana finally stepped out of her car, she tucked a piece of hair behind her and knocked on the front door, waiting for the boy to answer. / @plsmatthew
